Hi Gang , I have been making lists and checking them twice, it seems
that their is no end and yet I am almost there. We are loading the
trailer and stowing our luggage. I checked with the airlines at Rons
request and sure enough they had cancelled our flights and they
rescheduled us, well we were lucky ! I protested the departure time
and a very nice lady from Northwest airlines found us better flights
with less connections and so all is well. I confirmed the motels and
seems that we somehow got different room numbers, but at least we
still have rooms. We are loading our luggage in the trailer and
knowing it will be arriving with the bikes is a releif. Ron has done
a amazing job of finishing and painting the custom fit wonderful
fiberglass body parts that Phil made. Nathan has gone all out on the
graphics and with a little help on the install from ol Dad the bike
is really looking good! We installed a front fender on the roadracer
and it does not look all that sexy but it serves a purpose. The salt
ruins things , the extent of the damage is not apparent right away. I
found that it takes about six months to see what is going south. I
would appreciate any advice on preventing this or neutralizing the
effects as the only alternative is a complete tear down and a
restoration. I really did not want to run the roadracer on the salt
again just for that reason.
The first time we sprayed everything the best we could as far as
exposed surfaces with WD40 this generally made a mess and in the
final analysis did not seem to make much difference. If it did and I
have chose not to do it this time , we will be sorry. I realize I am
harping on the subject but we have the bikes looking so good it
really is a deterrent . Well wish us luck the trailer leaves tomorrow
and we leave on Friday. Johnny is our rider , driver and has been
indispensible the past week helping me finish safety wiring ,
mounting loading cleaning and anything else I asked. I was and am
very grateful. Dyno Dan
