Wow , almost time to go and we have to finish and paint the fairing
lowers and the bellypan, then we need to letter the bike and finish
safety wiring. I am sure that the team will pull it off and I hope to
prevent any hasty work. The complex systems that are in place are
working and Ron and I are incorporating a on board battery pack to
support the bottle heater during the run. Phil has done a excellent
job of building a custom fit fairing lowers and belly pan. I am very
pleased with the final design and was instrumental in helping Phil
mount the thing. Ron is pulling out all the stops and has helped me
in so many ways that it would sound like I was bragging. He is a
perfectionist and it kill him to just do a satisfactory job. He makes
our work look good. He is finishing and painting the parts and will
give us a professional appearance, with a quality paint job that is
just not really obtainable with a rattle can. We will be loading next
week and we have to wait for the graphics to be installed. We have
the roadracer ready to go and we are relocating the number plates as
they are considered streamlining and are not allowed on the tail. We
need to put numbers and designations on, this not including making
video camera mounts and testing. Once again Ron is our videographer
and will be in charge of on board video. Johnnie is not only driving
our rig out to Bonneville he has been devoting tremendous amounts of
time and supplies to help me build a self sufficient trailer and
mounts to haul the recovery trailer . My father Roger Howk will be
the recovery team and will be outfitted with a four wheeler, big hat,
fire extinguisher, cb, water and a trailer ! A late comer to
volunteer is a friend of mine Ed Dovey, he is going to be a swing man
and we will put him to work. Kevin Dunn the cozy sidecar importer
from Canada will be attending and has asked me if we could run his
Triumph 900 with a sidecar and Johnnie Szoldrak will be driving and
Ron Hollingsworth will be the hack man. This will be interesting as
it is expected to go 120mph with the hack! Mark will run the b bullet
in the gas class first , then we will go fuel, in the fuel class we
will make several attempts. The nitrous call is in ten horsepower
increments and we will probably try a ten horse shot first , then a
twenty horse shot for the prooving run. This is a lot to ask from a
16hp motor running normally asperated at 48hp. Time will tell we have
a spare engine and providing time allows we will install it and make
a thirty horse call and then forty. I am loving it and hope we are
successful. My health is very good and I hope I am able to endure the
heat and with good fortune perhaps it will be moderate. Thanks again
to everyone !!!! DAN we will put the names of the contributors on
the bike as promised and hope to include everyone. It is inevitable
that someone will be unintentionally overlooked so I will probably
list a universal donor called Mulligan, representing anyone
overlooked. Dyno DAN
