DRS racing was at Mid Ohio and we competed in the Classic 60's class
and was proud to represent Royal Enfield and present our Bonneville
Bullet. I beleive Johnny finished third on Saturday and fourth on
Sunday! It is my understanding we got some press in the Vintage Views
and we will post some photos and meaningful repose when time allows.
Everyone is working and chipping in to make timely preparations for
our trip to Bonneville. I want to thank everyone who has contributed
to the project. It is and always will be my priority to recognize the
team members individually and collectively. I find it rude for people
to blow their own horn. We at DRS Racing feel we should show' em not
Tell'em. My father instilled this upon me at a early age, and it just
stuck. One of my weaknesses is not recognizing the efforts of all of
the team members, compliments not flattery pay great dividends! On
that note,Phil Myers produced a fiberglass seat with a lot of help
and Ron Hollingsworth was able to take on the responsibility of
painting the seat and has done a bang up job in a timely fashion.
Phil is working diligently to produce a custom fit belly pan and has
conceded that he will not likely be able to produce a custom front
fender. WE will more than likely install a aluminum alloy fender for
the race. Roger Howk was kind enough to come and test drive the
chinese four wheeler trailer combination that I assembled and we were
very fortunate that it seem to work perfectly. I was the guinny pig
rider and I chose our Yamaha 500 roadracer as the test vehicle. I
just could not take the chance with the roadracer, so much for
confidence, I will post some photos later. Johnny is ever ready to
pitch in and do anything I ask, Nathan is coming Tuesday to expand on
our graphics and Mark is reading the motorized team bicycles . Glen
Kyle who built the motorcycle and built the engines has been their in
every capacity and just to mention it he Needs your thoughts and
prayers as he was recently thrown from a new and shy horse and
unfortunately damaged a vertebrae. On the up side he is out of the
hospital and ambulatory, but not A OK. On the west side Bob
Hutchinson and his team are making preparations to attend the Bub
event and it is my understanding they will have the list of
contributors updates soon. I also hope they will have provisions for
individuals to update. I will talk to CMA as the contributors are the
largest group who deserve recognition and the primary reason I have
attempted to put this together. The Classic Motorworks Team has been
responsible for promotion and have contributed greatly to the success
so far. Last but not least Kevin Mahoney of Classic Motorworks ,
Royal Enfield USA and his employees are the original organizers and
have been the impetus for the build and effort to initiate the build
and without question deserve much credit. It was with their efforts
that the factory in India came on board and provided support. Kevin
was generous in all of his decisions, we found product support from
Hitchcocks in England and Stephen HIll from Australia ! We could not
and can not do this alone and I am sure that I am overlooking someone
or some thing but this Thanks is all inclusive. The most important
thing is my heart is in the right place. Good Karma DAN
