Hi all,
I have just received these links from Brian Vogt, a friend of
mine in Adelaide – in response to a message sent to him about “Battle
of Waterloo” day. Follow the links to the photo albums – those
of us in Canberra could only dream about getting that many Rootes cars in one place
at the same time.
Cheers, Vic
“”Here in Adelaide, we held what
might (by analogy) be called the English
Civil War, although "English Civil Peace" would be more accurate.
In June every year, the Hillman and Humber car clubs join together for
"Subs and Rego Day" at a community hall. The idea is to come and pay
our membership subscriptions (just before the end of the financial year)
and get our cars' Historic Registration log books endorsed for another
year of use. Plenty of time to chat with people of both clubs.
The car park looks like a step back in time:

A Humber was voted best car on show. Don't know which one, but 2 Super
Snipes stood out in my mind.
Last October we had our annual combined Rootes clubs run.
