I've just added a couple of photos to the album "Gil's Garage".
This morning I installed the pair of used accessory road lamps. Each lamp is
attached using the existing bolt hole for the brace at the leading edge of the
gravel pan along the main bumper bar. From inspection of the brackets, it was
evident that each light had originally been secured by just one bolt. This
leaves the lenses very slightly rotated, but avoids drilling and the slight
potential clearance problem with the gravel pan. I don't have the switch or
wiring harness (other than those portions integrated with the lights). I'll
probably have an aftermarket setup installed by a pro. My own wiring projects
have sometimes been an object lesson in unintended consequences!
That screw-type jack I rediscovered recently in my "garage stuff" underwent
cleaning, oiling, and a light cosmetic touch-up. With a new yellow/green decal,
it now resides usefully in the trunk of the Capri.
Thanks for the continuing flow of information, advice and shared experience.
