Re: [Revcon_Curious] Re: Flatnose Diesel Conversion Update

You've seen one? SWEET!!!

From the beginning, I've felt it was possible. Now, we have an actual
sighting. This is VERY encouraging. All I really want to see is that left
side of the engine, by the bell housing. A digital pic would be plenty, if
it shows the 4 oil lines coming out of that area.

Looking at this site, you can see the filter by the bell housing. It's
right where the tranny goes.

However,
this report means all I need is the filter relocator and the BOP -> GM
adaptor. Piece of cake!

I'm in the Portland area, BTW.

All, I'm working on the '73 250 to diesel. As a donor, I've bought a diesel '88 Suburban that will have all I need (except a few adapters) for the conversion....

For your filter problems look at marine suppliers. It is very common to install the oil filter remotely from the engine so that they can be accessed. All...

Correct. However, the GM 6.2/6.5 engines have that filter located at the very rear, by the bell housing, on the left side. I may not have room between the...

I've pulled the trigger on the '88 Suburban. I plan to get the non-EGR intake and Banks turbo for it, and call it done. That will have to do, as it's all the...

Would a gear reduction starter give you the clearance you need? Those starters typically have the motor offset and mounter higher up because of the gears. Dave...

The issue with any of the Olds starters is not the starter, it's the 6.2/6.5L flex plate. It's larger in diameter. Anything that bolts to the tranny will not...
