Trails AND Road will be CLOSED to all motorized vehicles beginning M   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #104 of 161 |
We received this from the US Forest Service this weekend:

------

Due to the recent warm weather, and the resulting muddy conditions,
the Rampart Range OHV Recreation Area will be closed to all motorized
vehicles, beginning Monday March 31st, to protect the area roads and
trails from unnecessary damage.

As soon as more of the accumulated heavy snow melts, and the ground
dries-out, the area will be re-opened to motorized use.

Because of this special closure and because the heavy accumulation of
snow currently makes the Rampart area roads impassable, the
traditional April 1st opening of the Rampart Range OHV Recreation
Area gates will be postponed until further notice.

Please contact the South Platte Ranger District Office, at 303-275-
5610, for the current status of the Rampart Range OHV Recreation
Area, before making a trip all the way there to only find out that
the area is still closed.

Your cooperation, patience, and assistance in spreading this message,
is greatly appreciated.
