I should have mentioned this in the first place. Last year I lowered my bike 2 or 3 inches to accommodate my short stature. Now the bike stands practically straight up so it's possible for it to fall over with a heavy breeze.

Why do you need to shorten the kickstand? I have a very heavy bike and I can still lift it by turning the wheel hard right and leaning into it. Just don’t park it on a hill with the left side down…. My 2 centsmary -----Original Message-----

Subject: Re: [RCR] How much should a kickstand lean? WOW! In the 18 years I've ridden, I've never heard of shortening the kickstand, so my first thought is why would you want to shorten it? I also wonder if shortening it, might compromise the stability of the bike when the kickstand is put down? nbsp; However, I certainly do not know everything there is to know, or I would have heard about this already. :-) I would suggest going to a professional motorcycle mechanic. &nbp; I really recommend Gervasi's Motorsports. They are VERY honest and the owner only hires mechanics with lots of experience. Ask for Rick Gervasi, who is the owner and tell him Shelly referred you. Their number is 425-259-6875. Or you can email them at www.gervasismotorsports.com . Good luck and I hope this helps you.Shelly

To:Subj: [RCR] How much should a kickstand lean? I need to get my kickstand shortened but I don't know how much to tell
the guy to take off. Does anyone know how many degrees the bike is
supposed to lean? Also, does it matter how much the bike weighs?
Thanks girls...I'm gettin' ready to ride!
