WOW! In the 18 years I've ridden, I've never heard of shortening the kickstand, so my first thought is why would you want to shorten it?                                                       I also wonder if shortening it, might compromise the stability of the bike when the kickstand is put down?                                                                                                   However, I certainly do not know everything there is to know, or I would have heard about this already. :-)  I would suggest going to a professional motorcycle mechanic.                                                                                                                                  I really recommend Gervasi's Motorsports.
