Have you looked at any salvage yards? I bet somebody there would let
one go cheap. I would also try looking at e-bay. They sell a lot of
VWs. It is kind of hit and miss, but you may find one there. Good
luck!

I have the CIS-E fuel injection on my '87 GTI. It is also called
Jetronic. My GTI has mechanical fuel injection. I can't chip it, but
the system is supposed to be easier to work with than the Digifant. I
have heard that the Digifant can be a nightmare to work with. I have
also heard other people that love it. There are just more electronics
to deal with on the Digifant. The more electronics you have, the more
of a possibility you will have something wrong.
They didn' start putting Digifant into the GTIs and Golfs until '88.
Did you do an engine swap on your car?

I bought this wrecked Gti a year ago with the intention of putting
the engine/transmission and all the Hi-Performance parts on my 1990
Jetta. Things didn't work out that way, the Jetta is gone and the
GTi and all the parts are for sale as one unit, I will not separate.
1992 VW GTi 8 Valve for parts. Black with black interior and dark
tint on the rear windows all the way around. Hit on the left front.
The drivers side door opens but not all the way due to binding with
the bent fender, the door is slightly bent when the driver forced it
open .. the door was not damaged in the accident. The alignment
between the drivers door and the windshield post looks good and the
windshield didn't suffer any damage in the wreck, all the other
panel alignment looks good so I think it's repairable. No steering
wheel and the front seats are not the originals. New windshield. Hi
performance parts: Nuespeed 25 mm anti-sway bar front and rear.
Front cross-brace, Hi performance adjustable suspension struts on
the front. Good engine with only 122,000 miles and 5 speed
transmission with Schrick cam, header and aftermarket stainless
steel muffler. Weighted aftermarket shifter, VW stock aluminum tear
drop wheels.
I'm asking $600 because that's what I have into it, add up all the
parts individually and you know this is a great deal.
I'm in San Dimas, California

If any of you have an '87 GTI and are looking to convert the R12 to
R134a or Freeze 12, I figured out what to do!
My '87 GTI has 3/8-24 (3/16") service ports on both the high and low
end. This causes a problem as none of the conversion kits fit my low
end service port.
What I needed on the low end was 7/16-20 (1/4") to be able to accept
the normal low end R134a port adapter.
I found and used this adaptor:

Adapter-3-16-x-1-
4_W0QQitemZ7942654136QQcategoryZ46094QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
It worked! I was able to adapt my 3/8 to 7/16. I was then able to use
an adaptor and charge my car. I now have a working A/C! I ended up
going with Freeze 12.
Hopefully this helps somebody! I was pretty excited as I have been
trying to convert my A/C for the past 2 years. R12 is so expensvie
now!
i have 86golf MK2 1300cc and i'm redy to share my information with any one
by the way i'm from cairo, egypt

G'Day,
Does anyone have a black and white drawing available for a 1985 VW
Jetta (A2/MK2). I'm looking to apply colors to the drawing to come up
with a color scheme for my car. If you have on digitized, I'd love to
have a copy of it.
Thank You,
DethanB
I'm sure I've got something lying around. I could probably dig
something up. If I find anything, I'll send it your way. Are you
looking for any particular angle?

No, not really, in fact if you have a couple of different angles I'll be
more than happy to use em up. I purchased a subscription (2 actually) to
DubModder but I'm only able to get so far there. So if you have a few
different, or even one drawing I'd love to have it!
