Everybody in the UK knows that Clarkson is not really a motoring
journalist. He and his program, Top Gear, is aimed at the "Lads Mag"
audience not people interested in motoring issues.
If Clarkson or his cohorts don't like a car they'll do an
assasination job on it. They're not very subtle, that's too
complicated for them.
If you watch crap expect to see crap.
Turn it off!

I agree with your assessment Stuart and never personally watch the infantile
loon.
What does annoy me though is that there is no *serious* discussion of
motoring issues anywhere on TV. It is as if the only natural history
programmes all involved wrestling with alligators, or as if Spitting Image
was the only political programme.
Where are the motoring equivalents of Attenborough, or Paxman? It is not as
if there are no serious issues. Look what motoring costs us. Look what it is
doing to the environment. Look at the unemployment looming in the US.
How different it all could have been, if *real* discussion of eco-friendly
transport could have taken place and real, informed consumer pressure
brought to bear on the manufacturers...
