Right... which means that even if not "running," it is generating drag
and lowering your mileage. That's why, when hyper-miling, the magic
number to avoid is 42. Wait... haven't I heard that number somewhere
before? ;o)

... No. You don't see any output arrows because the ICE is not firing and burning fuel. It is just spinning (hence causing drag). It has to spin over 42 miles...

... I believe this is true. The electric motor is being used to both propel the car and spin the engine under these conditions. The engine is not producing...
