Hi Marcus.

This is about the meeting. If the weather is bad we will drive our cars.
Some will ride in any weather. If it is raining all the way I will be in my car.

Thanks

Yes Mark.

This is an annual get together that we do each year. If the weather is crappy then I will drive my car. While the ride is important this is also about the destination (meeting). We can cancel the reservation and see what is open that day. There is only one table and area there that can handle perhaps 10 at one table. But it is often busy and chances of that table being simply open is slim.

So those of you who are regulars get on the poll. Here is a link

I will be posting up a reminder or 2 before then. But get it on your calendar and get on the poll now.

Thanks

The poll is looking very sparse at the moment! Let's be clear, if the weather really sucks that day, I'll turn up in my Jeep rather than on a bike, but if we have a room reserved with a $350 minimum fee and no guarantee that enough people are going to show up, I personally can't afford to 'sub' those people that don't turn up!

Monitor the poll carefully. If it looks like we'll be borderline, I say cancel the reservation! Just take our chances that we'll find enough free table space on the day!

Size can very each year. Last year it was smaller than usual and at least one
manufacturer (BMW) opted out entirely. I can safely say that it is the largest
motorcycle show of its kind in the PNW.

to the one here at the Trade-Ex but find it a little small. How do they
compare?

It has been suggested that 1:30 would be to late forcing a return on the hated I5? I suggested 1:30 to try and avoid the busiest lunch hour. However based on prior experience they will reserve the Green room if we commit to 20 plus customers. They have asked in the past for a minimum charge of $300. Based on 20 that is around $15 each. If we have 26 or so like last year no problem. But if we have 9 or 10 that is a problem for those who show up.

Bottom line is we could reserve the Green room at noon but we need to have commitments from 20 or so. So hit the poll.

I will call for more info but what are thoughts on time.

Check out the 'Concept' video. I think this new Multi is going to be a scream! I plan on getting one towards the end of next year. Gotta try and get my ST4s to 100K first. Don't know if I'll be able to resist the temptation! :-)

I’ve just voted that I will attend even though the poll still says lunch is at 1:30PM.  If it stays that way I may still go on this ride but I will be leaving the Olympic Club right around the time that the main group will be arriving.

Sounds good. I'll start a poll to get an idea of how many to expect.

All the specs and info are excellent!
I still don't like the beak- but I'll wait until I see it.
Heck, I can do custom bodywork...

If the electronic suspension works as they claim, it could be the best of
both worlds. Great at high speed, great at low speed, bumpy twisty roads.

I really like the light weight (417 lbs dry). I don't like heavy bikes.

I'm guessing it will be Streetfighter pricing, I can't see how it could be
less.

I hear informed rumours we may see it in Seattle first!

The attached pdf file shows two routes to the Olympic Club from the Eastside: one that is similar to Randy’s route last year with some tweaks here and there; and one that is similar to Steve’s route from Shelton two years ago.

Both routes are about 150 miles from Bellevue.  If I make it to the Icecycle Run this year, I will probably do the yellow route in the morning (so that I can perfectly time my arrival at the ferry) and do the purple route on the way home.

My interest in going on this ride is not weather dependent (barring ice and/or snow) but it is somewhat dependent on the lunch schedule.  I don’t much like the idea of a 1:30 PM lunch, which would pretty much necessitate riding home on Randy’s favorite road (I-5).  I would like to enjoy the ride both ways so I want to be on my way home by no later than 1:30PM.   Others may feel differently but I suggest we settle on a time and then conduct the poll since I suspect it could influence some decisions.

  Hi All

Time to talk aroun the 2009 Icecycle Run. I believe the date should be 11/29/09?
I am thinking we should plan on a 1:30 meet. The thought being to avoid the prime lunch hour at the Olympic Club in Centralia.

Here is the ride report from last year.
http://www.nwbikers.com/RDRW_IceCycleRun.html

I planned the route from the north end last year and took 2 wrong turns. So I will just be riding this year. Lets throw some ideas around. I wonder if anyone can come up with a NEW route?

I will volunter to call and see if we can get the Green Room?

I'm currently planning on going- unless something comes up.

I'm *still* hearing about my route choice, so probably not many will want to
follow me!

Our monthly Second Saturday Night Dinner is coming up Saturday. As usual, it
will be held at Cafe Veloce in Kirkland. Directions can be found on their
website, conveniently located in the "Places to Eat" folder in the LINKS section
of our home page.

I have created a poll to gauge how many will be coming. If you plan on
attending, please indicate as such in the poll so I can give the
restaurant an accurate head count when I phone for reservations Thursday night.
They have told me several times that they really
appreciate knowing how many tables to set up in advance.

As always, non-riding friends and family are welcome. Cafe Veloce
gives a rider's discount if you show up on your bike, but don't be
embarrassed to drive if the weather or other circumstances are not
conducive to riding.
