Frank,
You could be exactly on the money.
I am pretty sure the auxiliary air valve is on the fritz, as it won't close up when warm and doesn't open up much, even out of the freezer, hence it has to run really rich to keep an even idle speed.
It's drinking fuel at twice the rate.
The cold start valve doesn't know what to do, because the sensor is also not operating correctly?!?!?!?!
The good news is that it's going into Voldat tomorrow night for a Friday morning shakedown.
Then I can get on with the fun stuff.
I picked up a Ford AU Watts Link for $5 on ebay. I will make the existing end links adjustable with L/R hand high tensile tie rod bolts and similarly the Watts link, and splice them together.
I have a design I'm working on, to mount a diff-centre bracket.
I have seen some very simple ones for late model Mustangs, using u bolts on the axle tubes, but that is a bit agricultural.
I'm considering a webbed right angle bracket bolted to the side of the diff carrier, utilising the bolt holes on the right hand side (viewed from the rear), or welding a mount the the diff housing cover plate as has been done by others.
This will allow for some lowering capacity, maintaining good geometry.
The front is a whole other story!
Regards
Stephen P. Taranto
