This mailing list (and accompanying web site) were created to honor the Chrysler New Yorker. In 1938, Chrysler introduced the New Yorker Special which soon became known simply as the New Yorker. This nameplate lasted until its discontinuation, 59 years later, in 1996, At the time of its discontinuation, "New Yorker" was America's longest continuously used nameplate.
