How small exactly? You could probably get by with 14ga cord for 50 ft, but you really should have a 12ga cord to be safe. If this is a small 16ga cord or something then that would be a definite fire hazard. Still, if you melted the cord you need to replace both ends to be safe. This is not something to take lightly because I know for a fact that more than one owner has burned their house down using too small of a cord to charge their GEM, and this is user error, not a vehicle defect.

there are "NO" set screws on a 2000 model. I just replaced mine with a regular extension head and it works perfect. cost 3.00. there is a 3 way plastic...
