If you're comfortable with stick I'd use it. It's not as clean as MIG and takes more skill. You'd want to use 1.6mm rods and low amps. The 7018 rods are nice...

One thing you could consider is using the stick welder , with 2mm rods to tack your chassis and then hire or borrow a mig to fully weld when you are satisfied...
