Useful and Affordable Suspension Software? - Opinions Sought   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #6481 of 6516 |
Hello,

I'm in the planning stages of a single-donor Locost, which would use a
1989-1992 Ford Thunderbird. Once a donor is located, one of my first
tasks will be to get the suspension designed. I have some useful
software available to help with the kinematic analysis (AutoCAD 3D,
SolidWorks) although neither was created for that purpose.

I would be interested in hearing from people who have actually used one
of the several suspension design packages available about their worth
and usefulness. I would pay perhaps $300 U.S. for something that would
really be helpful and do a complete analysis. However, I'm wondering
if there are any free packages out there too. My expectation is that
the design will be totally conventional with A-arms in front and H-arms
or similar in back and using coilovers for springs/shocks on all
corners.

Thank you,

Lonnie Smith
