Merkur T9 and Caterham bellhousing. I were to do it again I'd go with a Ford
T5WC and stock Ford bellhousing.
The 2.3 liter Ford bellhousing fits a Zetec with some minor modifications, and
I've been told the T5 input shaft requires some machining to fit the pilot
bearing. It's worthwhile as the T5 is a better transmission - cheaper, more
readily available, and easier to get parts for. I just rebuilt a $50 T5 for
~$250. Not bad, considering the rebuilt T9 in my car was ~$1000.
Probably more info than you wanted, but then I tend to be somewhat verbose and
stream-of-consciousness.
Hope this helps,

money and time trying to sort out a Focus ecu and harness (for a Zetec engine),
with a factory diagram and a few from the internet. And that was just the ECU
end - the engine already had all the sensors and trigger wheel in place. If I
recall correctly, the trigger wheel is cast as part of the flywheel on the
manual engine. Makes it useless for other applications
