I discovered 2 stripped wheel lugs on my Miata rear-end today. Yes, the bolts that hold the wheels to the disc brake hat and are pressed into the axle hubs. Is...

I had the same problem. I sanded a bit off the hub and tapped them out with a hammer. To get them back in, I installed them, lined up the splines, then placed...

I think -I'm not 100% sure on this - that on a 1.8 rear you need to pull the hub. They use a larger stud. But it's a fairly simple process as Chris described,...

OK, I determined I can get them loose with a BFH with no problem. I think I have to pull the hub though because the heads of the lug bolts won't clear...

Ok, so I'm embarrased to admit it, but I'm having a bear of a time getting the rear axle nuts off. The issue is that I can't lock the rear hubs. I'm...

You need an impact wrench. Or you could try a "breaker bar" and BF hammer. Either the nut will break loose or the breaker bar will just break. Good luck, MIKE...

Moti, I think the trick is that he cannot stop the axle from turning. He has to hit it "impact" style to get it broken loose. MIKE ... won't open. ... ...

Before I had a decent Impact Wrench I used to lock the opposing axle and lock the pinion. If it is still on the car a bar between the studs on the opposing...

I have taken a piece of pipe and wedged it between the studs and let it rotate down to the ground. Then it can't spin anymore. Then used a breaker bar with a...

Yup, just like installing a flywheel or clutch. Put a bar between two studs (if they're adjacent then it doesn't block access to the Big Nut) and use that to...

.02 worth - Orient the bar so it is working ACROSS the axle centerline. Sometimes, on small cars, you can spin the wheel with a bar.(with the car on the...

Now that you have the bar across the axle centerline, how are you going to access the nut in the middle of the axle? :) The problem isn't a wheel nut. Keith...
