This Tuesday's RAT pack ride will bring us to Horn Creek. Horn Creek is a
Hunter's Pub
east of Delton. We will stay on main roads for most of the ride since the deer
traffic is getting
a little heavier. This ride will be a little shorter than the past few have
been, since we are also
losing a lot of day light. It should be about a forty minute ride. The weather
forecast calls for
some showers on Tuesday, but who knows it could clear up by the evening hours.

Get signed up for the RAT Pack Color Tour October 20th. See the Life Cycle web
site for
details.

Have Fun!

This Tuesday our RAT pack will ride north. We will once again head north on
Sprinkle Rd. We
will cut through Yankee Springs Recreation Area, and then follow the Thornapple
River to
Middleville. This is a really nice time of the year to ride in the Yankee
Springs Park area ,
many of the trees are showing quite a bit of color already. Just hope the rain
holds off, and
according to the accuweather web site this morning no rain is forecasted for
Tuesday. Will
will stop at a Sports Pub called Champs. Champs is located right on the
Thornapple river. It
has a nice outdoor deck over looking the river , Mill pond, Stage Coach
Park/Boat launch, and
a nicely paved parking lot for the bikes (This should help keep em' up right &
clean). We will
depart from the Life Cycle parking lot at about 6:15 p.m. For those who may want
to just
meet us at Champs the address is 116 W. Main St. Middleville, Mi. All
riders/bikes are
welcome. You'll have all winter to think about the Great Rides you SHOULD have
gone on,
but missed out . Or you can take all winter to reflect, and talk about all the
great times you
had this season riding with Life Cycles RAT pack. The throttle is in your hand,
Twist it!

Let's Go!

I have posted a few pictures taken at The Battle of The Brits, a British car and
motorcycle
show. I guess there must have been over two hundred vintage, and new Brit
Bikes at the
show. They had the new Street Triple on display, and they also had a nice Speed
Four (The
Ripper, Orange & Black). There were many really nice vintage Triumphs, BSAs,
Nortons,
Vincents, Vellocette, Royal Enfields, and many others. I also collect vintage
British sports cars,
and I thought the motorcycle section of the show was far more interesting than
the cars. The
cycles had a much nicer variety of vintage iron. Many of these bikes looked
better than new.
I would like to encourage a stronger participation of Brit Bikes at our local
British car show,
Mad Dogs and Englishmen. The Mad Dogs show always falls on the Sunday after the
4th of
July. It is held at the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, MI. I will work
on getting a Life
Cycle RAT tent set up at the show next summer. Mark your calenders for this
event.

Bring out the British Iron!

Hey all in MI....

John here...past Lifecycle RAT leader.

It's good to see the site is back in place. I miss the group there
and the rides. Since moving to Rhode Island, I've noticed a bit of
regional difference in the world of motorcycling. First, the sheer
number of bikes here is amazing. I would estimate that there is at
least double the bikes per capita here than in MI. That being said,
they are 95% Harleys... The organization of the Harley groups here
is excellent, but the Triumph ,or any other brand for that matter,
organization is not what I experienced there. Maybe, I have yet to
find the right group (or to build the right group), but it is
unfortunate. The second observation is that the roads are
incredible...sorry to throw that out there :-) Roads here follow the
lay of the land, and carved through the hills, and obviously follow
roads established by early settlers, instead of following DOT
planners efficient visions. It's great for riding, but sucks for
driving. Anyway, I miss you all, and am planning to come back for a
visit in April for the 2008 Team Chicago track day. I will also post
a few pics from the Northeast, and see if I can find some older RAT
pics. Cheers

John

Jeepers what would make one cancel a ride this time of year? We all
know of the possibility of getting caught in the rain SO WHAT? Real

Fellow Ducatisti,
Our club has undertaken a plan to start the next Midwest Ducati rally
and have chosen this already existing and very successful weekend
that we have been co-hosting with STT for going on 4 years now.
We have enlisted the aid of our fellow D.O.C. clubs including
Desmohio, Hoosier Hooligans, Mocha and Drill in the Chicagoland area
to help us promote and put on what we hope will be a great Ducati
rally and one of the best in the country.
We have also invited regional dealers to come out and show their
wares and hope to have a number of corporate participants on board
such as Red Bull, Repsol and others.
Several companies are on board as sponsors or participants with more
coming and hope to have a carnival atmosphere with special giveaways,
merchant area, great food and live entertainment throughout the
weekend. Also as always STT will provide the top-notch on track
experience we have all come to expect from them. The Orbitsuns will
be playing live on Saturday night so come out and check out one of
the hottest bands in Detroit! Check them out at www.orbitsuns.com.
This event will be held the weekend of August 18, 19th and 20th at
Gingerman Raceway in South Haven, Michigan. If you have never been to
Gingerman we think you will be impressed with the level of the
facilities and the challenging track that the owner has built there.
We hope to see you all out at the track and look forward what will be
a great event for all participants.
