This message board is sponsored by Derby City Beemers, a BMW motorcycle club based in Louisville, Kentucky. The message board serves as a forum for riders in the Louisville area interested in the BMW marque.

There are no restrictions on type of bike, or even owning a bike. We have people who own Honda's, BMW's, Ducati's, Harleys, Triumphs, sport bikes, cruiser, sport touring bikes, dual sport bikes, and some who just drive cages but like bikes.

Many of the active list participants are also members of the Louisville BMW Riders, but there is no requirement that you join the club (although we encourage you to do so).

PLAYGROUND RULES:

Be friendly.

Sign your actual name.

Post stuff you wouldn't mind having your mother read; i.e., use restraint.

Avoid certain subjects altogether. Posts related to internet virus(s), religion, politics, gun control, abortion, impressionistic painting, or other subjects unrelated to motorcycling are taboo on this list. Although many list members have strong opinions on such subjects, this list is not the place to talk about them unless the discussion also pertains specifically to riding.

Be polite. Irreverence is fine, vehement disagreement is expected, and the occasional unsupported conclusion is inevitable, but personal attacks on other list members are not appropriate. Remember that e-mail isn't like being there. People can't hear your tone of voice or see your body language - hence the development of the smile :-) and frown :-( conventions. But you also need to think about your writing style and make sure that your message conveys what you want to say clearly and simply, without making it appear that you are more of a jerk or a whiner than you actually are. :)

Violators may have their ability to post to the list revoked.
