I got ~11K miles out of mine before the coolant that leaked into the gearbox
(due to a failed water pump) caused the cork plates to disintegrate. Aside from
the flaking cork, everything looked fine. I bet they last 20K miles if not
heavily abused.
I replaced springs, friction plates and metal plates since I didn't want to deal
with it again. OEM parts are $$$.
