ive got a 74 kz900 that has spoke wheels. im wantng to upgrade to a newer set of kz mag wheels. does anyone know what years and models of other kz bikes will interchange without having to do  a whole lot of modification?

Keep the original wheels!!!! If you need to, get them re-chromed and spocked in Stainless, you will regret getting rid of them. The z900-A4 is starting to...

We tried to change over a '75 Z1-B and were unsuccessful with the stock parts that we had available. The problem was the rear disc brace mount on the swingarm....

What I mentioned would be for a KZ-440 LTD - so the rear would be a 16". I missed the beginning of this so I'm not sure if 16" will work for you. <g> stephen...

I don't know and why would it make any difference? Just use the KZ-440 axle if the wheel is the shape he wants. stephen...

The smaller diameter axle will float around in the swing arm / chain adjusters... ...and it will be much weaker. The KZ400's use a 16mm axle versus 18mm on...

To find out this stuff, use the Kawasaki parts diagrams. www.kawasaki.com - click on owner info, then parts diagrams and follow it down through to the parts...

Here's a few general tips for investigating what parts might interchange across bikes. Look for items like nuts, bearings, o-rings and seals to find diameters...

i didnt mean to start a argument but i have to agree with robert. the reason for the bigger axle in the 900 was due to a bigger and heavier bike than a 440. ...
