Yes indeed. And it's not just your Mercury Mariner hybrid -- every car on
the road experiences the cold weather drop, but it's more noticeable on
hybrids since there's dash feedback and we hybrid owners tend to chart our
MPGs more closely and so notice fluctuations more quickly (and since our
hybrid vehicles don't "auto-stop" as often in the cold weather, we idle more
and use more gas than "normal").

I had the exact same results, with the exact same change in mileage as you had. Though, my mileage did bounce back a bit, when we had a brief "warm" spell....
