I picked up my 2008 Prius on Friday (12/12/2008) after the installation
of the L5 PCM and drove 50 miles from the A+ Japanese auto repair shop
in San Carlos to where I work. After a 1-minute warmup, the first
(approx.) 40 miles the MPG indicator hovered around 99.9 except while
climbing a steep hill. Once the juice ran out, the MPG indicator
dropped back to its normal (ordinary) behavior. Now all I need is a
charging station at work, and I'll be able to make my normal 48-mile
round trip on battery power. So far, I've "only" averaged 76 MPG
because half the time, I'm driving on gas.
