HI Jay;
I'm coming up on 20K miles since last Nov. when I got my L5 in Denver. But I did
have to put in a 2 amp automatic charger to keep the L5 from discharging my
auxillary 12V battery. Good to know you survived a rear ender, and I also can't
get my work to let me charge up.
Good luck on your conversion. No idea how many are out there now, probably not
more than 500. I think the economy really put a huge slow down on orders.

My car got a good thumping on Thursday when I was rear-ended on the way to work.
The mechanic who installed my L5 upgrade inspected the car (and the battery
pack) and found no problems, fortunately. There weren't even any fault codes in
battery system's log after 5 months of operation. Interestingly, they did
download a software update. If anyone knows what that was about it would be
interesting to hear about it. The only thing I've noticed--or not noticed--since
the software upgrade is the beeping from the console (maybe the upgrade fixed
it, but I don't actually know that).
There hasn't been a peep of news out of Hymotion since last year. Does anyone
know how many L5's have been sold and how well owners are doing with the
upgrade? My only complaint is that I can't charge the battery at work, so I'm
only getting half of the benefit that I'd like to see from the upgrade.
