12v digital convertor box ?
I have a USB EyeTV Lite gadget that drives my Mac Mini computer. I use an old TV antenna (log periodic fishbone style) and get twenty stations off the Mt Sutro

It does work but, zzzzt with one wrong move or out of sequence.  Seen it happen to someone who thought that they could save some money also!  Guess what,

For that matter, solar grid tie inverters exceed 95% average weighted efficiency. Ours is an SMA SB3000US rated at 95.5% at 240vAC. You'd need 228vDC minimum,
