The words below are the first two paragraphs taken from the Constitution and Rules document of a new organization. This Yahoo Groups site is but a stepping stone to a dedicated site of a club whose time is long overdue. There are several European-based Hafliger clubs whose contact information can be found in this site's Links section. It was their existence that is the primary reason for the formation of a similar club based on this side of the Atlantic ocean. The Haflinger community in North America is already strong and gifted with very talented individuals. This site is not meant to compete in any way with the current Yahoo Groups Haflinger site nor any other forum. Please limit all posts and other submissions to this site to club business only.

1. Club Name: The club shall be known as the “Haflinger 4 Wheel Drive Club of North America” hereinafter referred to as “the club”. In honor of the vehicles’ Austrian ancestry, the club may also be referred to as “Haflingerallradklub Nordamerika”or “HAKNA”.

2. Mission Statement: This club is organized for the purpose of supporting the promotion, exhibition, restoration, preservation, maintenance and full utilization of, and otherwise encourage interest in, the Steyr Puch Haflinger lightweight 4x4 multi-passenger multi-function high mobility cross country vehicles. The organization is also dedicated to fostering international dialogue, cooperation and comradery with both individuals as well as organizations who share similar interests in the unique and historically significant Steyr Puch Haflinger vehicles across the planet.
