That's what Claire used to call me :) After my animal days I went
back to...........never mind. :)
We need some input on a Chapter Colors, Rides. I talked to Bud today,
he is all set. He said Phil was to go out there. Not sure if he did
either. I will pick up his paper work this week or if Jack beats me
there he can get it. Is he doing better or do I have to tell the
Sunshine lady to send him a card?

Regarding the Mascot. I think the Rooster would be good. Chapter "B" has a Bumble Bee (which I'm sure Dad would BEE happy to use). I can come up with a few designs for a chapter logo for Chapter "A" with a rooster. If anyone else has any ideas feel free to continue suggesting. I'll make a few different logos and we can all vote on them and figure out which one is the best for the chapter. It's definately all about you guys and gals so I hope to get everyone's input.
As for the website. I'm still waiting on an email from Doc from "B" to get me rolling. I'm going to start work on it within the next few days whether I have the templates or not. I'm open to any suggestions from all the members when it comes to the website. Feel free to either post a message here or email me directly. I'll try to jump on suggestions/ideas A.S.P.C.A..... er... ASAP :)
We are in the process of getting together our newsletter.
First, Those who do not have Internet access will receive the
newsletter by mail. For the rest of us, it will be posted on the web
site.
Second, those who still wish to receive the news letter in the mail
please let us know by e-mail or call 849-3291. I will also have extra
copies at the next scheduled meeting for those who want an extra copy
or just want to pick it up then.
Depending on when we get the web site up and running, we may have to
mail them all. We also want to get them out in a timely fashion so we
are shooting for the week before the meeting. This will also serve as
a reminder for the meeting. Please be patient.
I have had a few calls about the meeting dates. With all the
excitement last Sunday I guess I may not have been to clear. The
meetings will be held on the last Sunday of the month at 6:30 pm at
The Easton's Point Pub & Restaurant at 116 Aquidneck Ave. in
Middletown, RI.
For the next meeting, please bring with you some ideas for our ride
schedule, Chapter Colors, Charity Organization, and any thing else
you would like to do as a chapter.
Jack and I will keep you posted as much as we can in this forum. We
believe communications is the key to a strong chapter.
Remember to spread the word about us to all your motorcycling
friends. Applications are cheap……….Friends are priceless.
Fred
Diane an I were thinking about a couple of potential club names for
Chapter A. We came up with: "The Ambassadors" - after all we are
representatives for the motorcycle riding community in this area. As
for a logo we though of a Knight maybe riding bike or a Coat-of-
Arms. An excellent symbol represnting chivalry, honor, courage and
community service.
The other idea was, "The A Team" - a group of adventurers who assists
each other in the promotion of good verse evil. The logo would be a
scarlet letter "A". What does everyone think about these ideas.
We are happy to see the involvement of other group members in
presenting ideas for our chapter. We are also glad to know that the
group will be allowed to vote regarding selection of chapter colors,
logo and mascot. When consider an idea, we think it is very
important to keep in mind the potential for verbal abuses of our name
and mascot name. For example, there are other less colorful ways
that people refer to rooster or octopussy......If you need it spelled
out let us know. Keep the ideas coming.

You left me with a large menu and chance to mix and match my order.
Great ideas.
I like the Knight on a bike with a side of "Scarlet A". For those of
you who are un-aware of Chapter B's logo, it is a Bumble Bee with the
letter B.
I never took into consideration your closing thoughts. Point well
taken.
If you like, set up a poll with ideas. The poll gives you 4 choices.
You are now the Official Poll Master of this thread.
Now we are on a roll.
While I have you, I have yet to hear if Jack James received an invite
to the yahoo group. I did send an invite to his work address that
could be the reason. If you run into him in your travels, remind him
we are here and would like their input also. He may have a home e-
mail address also. He or you can e-mail me privately if you wish.

I created a photo album for people to post pictures of their Chapter
A logo ideas. My wife, Diane, put three logo ideas in the album
already. The banner could be used at Chapter meetings and District
rallies. She's thinking of a brass display rod with a maroon or
silver or titanium Wing, silver helmet and then lots of red for the
trim and the scarlet letter A.
Larry and Diane Kalsow
Great Job...........I like the Coat of Arms (banner)

Great.......I'm glad it is working out for you.
I posted 2 photos here, 1 of PMS and the other of Claire and I on our
86 Aspy. That would have been triplets, You, Jack, and I.
I have more of my 86 here:

Greetings
We need to come up with a plan for this off island event. I know some
of you get a little queasy with the thought of going over a bridge or
two. Just to let you know, The DEM has diverted all waterways and has
made it a safe passage for Wednesday's meeting in the woods of
Lincoln, RI.
For $5 bucks a head I'm bringing doggie bags.
Mike has offered to lead the way if we meet him at the little
convince store near the Tiverton Police Station on Fish Road at 6 pm.
Those that want to car pool can either make arrangements at home on
the Yahoo Group or in Tiverton Wednesday night.
I can always be reached on line or at home, 849-3291.
Fred
Greetings All
Well the Chapter A News Letter is done and on-line for your viewing
pleasure. We hope you enjoy.
I am also sending this e-mail to non-members in hopes it will spark
some interest.
The next big hurdle is the ride schedule.
OK, Fred, I give. Where is the news letter located?

Thanks to those who made the trip on a dark and dreary night. Jack
told me after the get together that there were almost 60 people
there. That is way too cool.
We meet some new faces and got some great ideas. Now I don't know how
to break this to you guys..........BUT...........Chapter B has
challenged us to a Miniature Golf Game this year. If I am not
mistaken around mid summer at an undetermined place. Stay tuned, more
to follow.

Jerry is going to Barrington to sign up Brad Faxon and Billy Andrade.
Chapter colors?????????
I will start a poll of colors.
Chapter A Logo??????????
Larry.......any more input or are we ready to bring it to the next
meeting. If so could you have Diane print it with a color so I could
pick it up. I would like to have a sample for the 27th.
Enter your vote today! A new poll has been created for the

Thanks!
Fred and all fellow Chapter A riders
So far only 5 people have registered their choices on the logo
poll. Right now its 3 to 2 in favor of the Coat of Arms over the "A
Team" idea. The Coat of Arms idea would be easier to picture (not
that I'm biased or anything like that :) In fact if you go to the
photos folder, Diane has drawn up an idea for a Coat of Arms. It's
the second picture. Take a look. Then go vote. We'll have some 8 x
10 glossies at the meeting. Any other creative artists out there?

Greetings
Don't forget meeting/get together this Sunday night the 27th 6:30 pm
at Easton's Point.
Try to have some ideas on our ride schedule. Mike, Anne, Jack, Claire
and I have come up with a pretty good ride schedule but we have some
open dates that we think need filling in.
Chapter Colors...............Spread the word. This is something else
we need to address along with some sort of logo.
And of course anything you would like to bring up.

I've modified three traditional prayers for motorcylists. What do
you think of these prayers:
1)
God grant me the serenity of a motorcycle ride
To travel safely the road conditions which I cannot change
To wisely change the things I can change about my ride
And the experience to know the difference.
2)
May every road rise up to safely grip your treads,
May the wind sweep smoothly past your fairings
May the sun shine warm upon your gleaming chrome
And the rain fall softly after you've sheltered for the night.
Until we ride again,
May God hold you in the hollow of his hand
3)
May the strength of God pilot us on every ride,
May the wisdom of God warn us of the dangers ahead,
May the hand of God protect us from the dangers around us,
May the word of God direct us to live our lives worthily
Be always ours this day and for evermore.
Thanks Larry,
All three are keepers, no voting needed. We will use them in our
newsletter.

I should have some print outs for you at the meeting. Hopefully the
weather will be perfect. Would we like to do a picnic or pick some

plan the trip.
See you all Sunday the 20th.
