This List is for owners and enthusiasts of the Honda GB500 motorcycle. The GB500 was imported into the United States in 1989 & 1990 only. Other markets in the world got 250cc and 400cc versions. A related model, available in some countries, was the XBR500. Folks who follow any of these motorcycles are welcome on this List. All of these machines feature a four-stroke single cylinder motor and most are styled in the spirit of classic English bikes, such as certain BSA's, Norton's, Velocette's, and -- most especially -- the AJS 7R. These machines are rare and their value continues to increase nearly 20-years since being introduced. Nonetheless, owners are not shy about riding and modifying them. In fact, some people are racing them. The purpose of this List is to share our experiences with and our enthusiasm for these fine motorcycles. Discussions on this List follow a wide spectrum. We talk about the bikes, their origins, their unique features, and what makes their owners special. We also engage in technical matters, including tires, engine modifications, and ergonomics. In addition, the joy of riding these fine machines is a common topic, with frequent tales of trips, large and small. Finally, we occasionally veer off topic into matters only tangential to motorcycles, but vital to motorcyclists. If you love the GB500, you'll love this List.
