Hey, Kimberly- What you are doing is the right start.!st the heater
core is not going to be where u thought it was. The core is
actually on top of the evaporator case. Remove the dash as u r doing
and pull it back as far as u can.(a/c is usually disconnected prior
but I have been able to leave it connected"costs to recharge a/c")
disconect the wiring to the blower resister and the blk hose. Up
front in the engine compartment are 2 or 3 nuts to remove(they
attach to the evaporator case on the firewall) Back iside there are
1 or 2 screws that attach to the case support bracker up on top and
on the left & bottom for the dash attachment.The evap case should
now be accessable. Tight if u didn't pull the a/c lines. On top of
the case is the lid to the core, not in front as a non-a/c car.
it's held in by 5 screwss if I remember correct. Hope this helps. JJ
