I am looking to replace my vinyl top and wondering if anyone has had the
opportunity to do this on their own car. I purchased the material and stripped
the old one off but have not gone any further with it. Any help would be
appreciated. Bob
This is my 76 LTD Landau..Of all the iron I have had this is without
a doubt my favorite car..It was never built as a performance but is
a luxury ride....second to none....and looks real good to me....I
have other cars and they have their merits...Like to do up a Cougar
or Thunderbird in the 77/79 vintage as a bit of a performance
car...It is all there just need to make it happen...they have the
four linc rear with the 9 in Ford diff and disc brakes can be put on
the back if desired and they already have them on the front . Any
Ford big block is a bolt in and lots of power can be put on
tap....there are some very good quality cars to be had....I have
spent a lot of time putting together my future... 55 Ford glass
top...will be a conehead car....56 Ford Victoria...will be mild
custom with 428 auto and 9 in. diff.. My 76 LTD Landau for one sweet
comfortable ride to my next destination...A Cougar or T Bird 77/79
with a bit of motor and maybe custom to it....If time get me 64 Bird
on line again..Tis my plan and will just enjoy it and have fun along
the way....I know I little left of center but I happy...
Yes I have a bit more than I can handle but I seem to keep
collecting for some reason...I do like the 75 to 78 Fords....I drive
three Ford LTD's and two Cougars and one Thunderbird in that era..I have
two Mercury's that I could drive but not got around to it...I have some
Flare birds also that I did drive but not got time..I am restoring a 55
Ford glass top and want to do up my 56 Victoria as a bit of a go getter
machine...

Hugh,
That is quite a collection of big, old Fords you have there.
I do not get into dismantling because I am 15 miles out of the city so
would cost more to do a deal on parts than I would get...and then there
is the time thing....

The white LTD Landau is my good car...The silver LTD Landau is one I
just purchased and having a little fun with....Both cars have the
same color of interior...Both have almost the same mileage...The
white one has the 460 motor and the silver one has the 400 motor
