Hey all- you might think im crazy but i am thinking about selling my kelmark chassis. this would include the front suspension with all new tie rods, alignment and new ball joints upper and lower, disc brakes are not new but in good shape. the rear suspension is corvair with big disc brakes.steering box abd wheel. new shocks front and rear.less than 50 miles on 4 wheel alignment it has the 425 toronado trans that was just rebuilt and has a shift kit installed and it has a chevy motor adapter that is included or you could use an olds or caddilac motor . the floor pan will stay with chassis and it has brand new black carpeting. it has all new brake lines and new corvette 4 disc master cylinder.
ok what is not included will be the radiator and lines, tires and wheels, motor, headers and exhaust system and fuel tank, seats or any body parts. the motor with headers and exhaust or negotiable but i wouldnt sell for less than 1600 because of fresh
build and totally new exhaust.the wheels and tires are also negotiable. do not ask me to part out any of this as i will not. it will be sold as one piece.it can be seen in Kirks rebuild under group pics.I am offering it to this group and a couple of other groups before i put it on craigslist or ebay. i would take around 3600 for it. with all the work and new parts in it it would be double that what i spent on it. this chassis will work for just about any vw based kit. so if you have a body sitting around and motor you could be driving in a very short time. I do have something new planned so you might think im crazy and your probably right. i will not take the body or motor off until it is sold so if you would like to test drive before you buy contact me and will get arranged.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on where to look for the parts? Or if
it's even worth hunting it down and building it for how little a Gazelle replica
typically goes for?

It is a custom rectangular steel frame w/ disc brakes up front. The rear engine is mated to a 4speed corvair trans that has been flipped and reworked w/ a kelmark adapter and I have spare parts. the car was originally built for roadracing.

Hello, I don't have the time to devote to this great car because of other
hotrods. The hard work is done. It will need fiberglass mods to the rear wheel
wells, a wiring harness and interior. There is only 6k miles one the motor and
it is bored .030 over. I will send pics if interested. My email is
ea939@... and my #607-798-6995 I'm asking $8,000 and I have more than that
into the car. Thanks, Joe www.powerandnoise.com
Hello I finally took pictures of the interior and engine area. We have had rain and cold weather, we had a bout with the flu bug. regards Bill/lori

Speaking of Jamaicans, did you folks see the one featured in the latest Kit Car Builder?
Very nice and great story!

I
did body work on the mustang (steel and a
lot of rubbing). I layed some fiberglass
on a corvette I owned.
I think I will go out this weekend and talk
to the guy. I looked on another fiberfab
web site and it looks like ebay/craigslist
bids are about $300 for something like this.
Kind of what I was thinking.

I came across an Avenger body today sitting off in a lot behind a fence. Upon quick inspection (20 feet away through fence) I could see: - broken windshield - back window OK - do not know if it had door windows and regulators of any kind - latches holding front and rear clips in place - just a body shell, no floor - gauges in the instrument pod
After pulling back out, my wife, commented that the front right corner looked wrecked. I missed that and would want to look again. Of course, she said it was ugly...
Is it worth even looking at these shells as a starting point? I built a '67 mustang convertible ground up and would rather have a car started from nothing to know what I have.

I have 5 NOS (new old stock) Tru-Spoke Chrome wheels that were sold by CMC/FF for the VW Gazelle. CMC part # is 06-1273-00 They are 14" Dia 5-41/2 -43/4 Reverse 6" width Tru-Wire. Wheel adapters are necessary. Places like Summit Racing and others have them. I have 3 plastic hex center caps that say tru-spoke in blue. Center caps are available with many choices from two and three bar spinners to octagons etc. I plannned on using these on my CMC/FF MG TD replica but they will stick out too far from the fenders. Four are still in the original boxes and all are in excellent shape. I do have high quality photos to look at if you're interested. I will be checking on the shipping and handling tomorrow. I am located in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. The price is $550 plus the shipping and handling. You can contact me at poncefla@...
I am asked many times by what I will call novices or just people who are intimidated by wiring if there is such a thing as a pre made kit car wiring harness For VW based kit cars,
I have always just wired my builds from scratch but the question is a good one,
I have been told the Empi buggy harness is too short and doesn't have extra wiring for gauges, in other words it is pretty bare bones VW to buggy, I also question the quality,
I can't seem to find such a harness on painless wiring but I might be missing something,
So is there any generic kit car wiring harness out there?
