Extreme thanks to Louis Cruise. 481 was an exercise in engine adventures
Northern CA to Houston. One of these was a stop in Phoenix area and hands on
greasy help from Louis and generous hospitality. Not an option, I showed up with
no power steering and other problems. Naturally the PS belt was the inner most
of the five. No fun, the fan and water pump pulley had to be removed for belt
installation.

Breaking hoses, breaking water pump plumbing fittings, easy-out workings in El
Paso TX, a 3 day trip turned into 7 for lot's of little things. At one point I
was putting in water every 5 miles. I ran thru 3 complete fill and empty of the
60 gallon fresh water tank to keep going, one gallon at a time in the desert
heat, trying every combination of slow, fast, cap loose, tight, ultimately
arriving home with 1/2" brass plug in the top of the water pump, bypassed the
two other pump fittings, and a broom handle clamped in the remaining hose.

Thanks to Bill Sitton, Thor Faber of Faber Marine in Huntington Beach, Tom
Patterson, Louis Cruise, and every single rest area from CA to Texas that
exists. I needed them all.

In 2,300 miles it never burned a drop of Delo 15/40. The Onan never shut off
except at Louis's, and the engine and coach AC's sure made a more comfortable rv
adventure.

I learned a lot. One thing I learned is never use those handy-dandy little hoses
that afford easy rear dual tire inflation. Good grief, those are horrible.

Sure was nice to have that extra fuel tank!

Louis, I sure would appreciate a copy of the pictures of my coach you sent to
Bill. Thanks so much for your help, hospitality, extreme shop, knowledge and
expertise!

I look forward to those Jacobs wires, a good Thermal Quad Carter AFB, some AC
Delco plugs, and I'm gonna put my radiator on the roof under one of those 3 roof
pod covers I picked up. I am done with those belts, pulleys, and that darned
fan.

Forget the new 600 CFM Eldelbrock I bought in El Paso. It is too little. The
Eldelbrock manifold and the Carter AFB Thermal Quad had some real romp-stomp
power!
