Wow Lou ... it sounds like you are well into the project. Just where
are you exactly in the completeing it ? .. Your alum head
consideration ?.... and saying they might "move around" ?? ... I
think that those would give MOVING AROUND new meaning on high-load
motorhome application !!

Something though you did overlook. The 413 block is a much better
piece than a 440. The later 413 was built for HD use...and has
thicker cyl walls and beefier bottom-end. The 440 block is nothing
more than a passenger car piece with premium parts.

Hey Guys .... I 100% realize that the 413 is way diff than the 440. Do you know why Chrysler dropped the 413 in favor of the 440? I would really like to hear...

Back then Chy was getting out of the BIG truck market and wanted to stay with one big CU IN engine. I have never saw one but they say they even had the 14"...

I have 4 or 5 of these truck from the 60's to early 70's and they are all 8 bolt. I have been working on them since the mid 60's as well. So I am not guessing ...

Chrysler used the 8 bolt crankshaft in the 426 HEMI engines. This same crankshaft would fit in the 440 or the HT413. Never saw one in the HT413 but see no...

I doubt it probably just an automatic driver . Did any of your 413's have timing gears and no chain. I didn't start the post about 413's and like others here...
