Hello again,
I haven't driven the bike yet but I noticed the transmission grinds a
little when you go from neutral to first gear. It doesn't seem to grind when
going from second down to first. Is there gear lube in the transmission that
needs to be checked? I was told the transmission upgrade was done, but I
don't have any paperwork showing what work was done on the bike.

Joe, Congrats on buying your X. The switch on the handlebars for the front
brakes is a honda replacement item. I replaced them on both of my Xs in the
past. The back brake switch is located on the air filter side at the swing
arm pivot rod. I'm still using the original switches that came on the
bikes. The honda # 35340-MA5-671 is listed in the cross reference section in

cleaned the contacts on the switch and it still not working. Do I need to
replace the switch? I didn't see a switch by the foot brake. Is there only
one brake light switch? I was hoping to take the bike for a ride this
weekend, oh well. Any help is appreciated.

Joe, I checked with Marty(Superxparts.com) to see if Jamie might have done your
trany. Jamie did do #437 & #438 but not #436. You could check with John Jones to
see if he has any record of doing it. The oil in the crankcase is where the
trany gets its lube. A good full synthetic oil is advised. Good Luck. Van

Check the engine oil since it's all the same oil. Run it at the second X. Make
sure you understand how to check the oil..

Van,
Thanks for all your effort, that was very nice of you. I'll probably change
the oil as you suggested with a good full synthetic oil and see if that
helps. I hope you have a nice July 4th weekend.

If it has only got that many miles you had better not run synthetic til it is
broke in. Some amount of some is quite normal, especially if it is not warm up.
your trans could of been done by Bobby.

Hi Doug,
The motor wasn't warmed up so maybe that didn't help. Bobby worked on the
bike last July but didn't do the trans at least not then. I spoke to him and
gave him the PO's name and he told me what was done to the bike at that
time. I was told by the PO that the upgrades were done by the PO that was a
good friend of his, so who knows. Maybe the clutch needs adjustment.
