Try cleaning the rear brake switch before replacing. Clean the terminals and
make sure they fit tight. Check your brakefluid level too.
Might put "rotating" your brake fluid on the adgenda. If it's stock, it's 10
years old!

Joe, Congrats on buying your X. The switch on the handlebars for the front brakes is a honda replacement item. I replaced them on both of my Xs in the past....

Joe.. Two brake light switches... Front brake..micro switch on handle bar that needs cleaning sometimes... Rear brake light switch behind engine low in front...
