HACKENSACK, New Jersey (March 9, 2005) - Reigning 2005 NDRA (NOPI
Drag Racing Association) XBOX Cup Pro Compact Champions Bullish
Motor Racing announced today that the team will be joining the NDRA
in unveiling their Import Dragster program at a press event during
the race weekend the NDRA's 2005 season opener at Firebird Raceway
in Phoenix, Arizona, March 19-20. The revolutionary top-alcohol
based rail dragster will compete in the NDRA's exciting new Pro
Extreme Compact category – the next level of import and sport
compact drag racing.
Sport compact drag racing, and its import drag racing forerunner,
has been at the epicenter of the Generation Y `tuner scene' that has
spawned a 3-billion dollar aftermarket customization industry. The
quickly growing sport has attracted much attention within the
motorsport world with production-based 4 and 6-cylinder powered cars
that produce as much as 1,600 HP through turbo charging and state-of-
the-art engine electronics. The NDRA's Pro Extreme Compact category
will place the most powerful import and sport compact engines into
the quickest and most revered of drag racing platforms – rail
dragsters.
"I can't begin to express how exciting this is for the Bullish
Racing family, our sponsors, and our fans," said Bullish team owner
and driver Ara Arslanian. "The import-powered dragster and the
NDRA's Pro Extreme Compact Class are the next logical steps in the
evolution of import and sport compact drag racing. This sport has
always been about pushing barriers. We did our share with the first
9-sec factory six-speed Supra, and then the first sport compact to
run a 6-second pass. Now, we're looking to take turbocharged import
power into new territory - beyond the 6-second range."
Bullish will be announcing a title sponsor and a family of associate
sponsors for the Bullish Import Dragster ahead of the unveiling, but
will leave the technical details of the dragster – including
powerplant specifications unique to the program – for the NOPI
reveal. NOPI president Michael Meyers will join Bullish team owner
and driver Ara Arslanian at the ground-breaking unveiling.
"Having our reigning Xbox Cup Pro Compact champion unveil his new
Import Dragster at our first race is a great start to the 2005
season," said Michael Meyers, President of NDRA. "One reason for the
growing popularity of our sport is that drivers like Ara Arslanian
are constantly pushing the envelope and showcasing a `new breed of
speed'. The much anticipated Pro Extreme Compact dragster class
promises to be the hottest class with the fastest times in 2005."
In addition to the unveiling, the Bullish Racing team will also have
their 2005 specification StreetGlow-sponsored Solara on hand at
Phoenix to begin the defense of their 2004 Pro Compact title as well
as seek an unprecedented third-consecutive driver's championship for
Arslanian. Details of the unveiling will be posted on the team's
website (www.bullishmotorracing.com) to coincide with the Phoenix
press event.
