that voltage regulator should work for either...I have found that one on several of my 320 trucks that had generators...so I am guessing it works for either! ...

Nice collection. I have two for the 411; the factory one (mine isn't quite as pretty) and the Chilton's copy of the factory manual (wish I'd known they were...
Like Tana said, the voltage regulators were pretty standard for the early generators and alternators. That said, are you just curious or obsessive about...
Obsessive about that Datsun, YES absolutely. I'm between purist and slightly modified on my Datsun. There's certain things I won't modify and certain things I...

Okay. Understand. Ummm, explain how you "run EI on the ignition and still maintain the stock distrubutor." That I don't get. If the stock wiring is working,...
Haven't done it on a 410 distro yet. I might do what Mike K. did to his ignition. On my 510's single point Hitachi's, I use Pertonix Igniter and using the nice...
I like the challenge of getting these old Datsuns back on the road again. Most times frustrating but I still like it. I wouldn't say that good working original...

Am I crazy or does the Auto Zone website have a pretty good selection of early Datsun parts? They are not NOS however and I am wary of buying. The picture of...
Now that’s a good question. Of all my manuals, I’m referred to the owner’s manual for the auto trans oil requirements… but I find no reference there....
You're crazy because you have a 40 year old car. <g> All auto parts stores sell parts produced at the lowest price. The only one that seems to have higher...
I was surprised to find the trans filter and gasket on the Rock Auto Parts website. They show it as a Fram FT1044. I have purchased a few items from them...

Talking about filters... I recall buying up a case of the old engine oil cartridge types when I found out that Kragen still carried them. I think they were a...

I'd be a bit leary of that listing because of the other vehicles it say that it also fits, including some cars that never came with automatic transmissions. ...
Doing the filter change this weekend. Find out then. I'll post results. Someone bought the last (4) Fram filters listed on the site since yesterday. Stocking...
Results are in. Gasket and filter are NOT for the B/W trans. Looks more like a Datsun made trans that my Chiltons book shows. Oh well, still pulled off pan...
There are two B/W transmissions. British built and American Built. The RL411 and the earliest 510 used the British built trans. I don't know where you'd find...
Yeah, this was recently discussed on the Bluebirds (510) list. I'll find the thread and post a summary. One thing; was your tranny pan 14 or 15 bolts? Pete in...
Mine has 15 bolts. Pretty sure its the British B/W as it has the cable operated down shift,(and looks exactly like the British B/W shown in my manuals). ...
Update: Bottoming was actually the shocks useing their travel too soon. Had to use 1" spacers to extend the lower shock mounts. Now the front end works fine....
