Until we have an updated trailer from Sony, the original one has been added to youtube, and is being added to other sites as well... We encourage everyone to send it out as far and wide as possible (videos on that site have been known to get 45,000 hits a day), as well as getting everyone you can to start asking the question, "Who Killed the Electric Car?" We've started sending it out in various forums, as comments to other videos, in emails (stickers are in the works) etc.- not mentioning that it's a film, but simply asking the question and trying to get the non-choir members to ask it as well.
It's important that we take advantage of the current discussion of gas prices, etc, to get people talking about the real issues so that when the film does come out, the public is more prepared to hear the message. Anything any of you can do through your personal networks, alumni associations, religious or communty groups, etc., would be greatly appreciated.
There is a joy and peace when driving electric. Who will revive the consumers choice of owning an EV or plug-in hybrid?

Here is the latest news on "Who Killed the Electric Car?"Thanks for your enthusiasm and patience(and sorry if this reaches you twice)...
The big news is that Sony Pictures Classics gave us an officialrelease date : June 28th,2006! Sony is working on how a roll-out will work in major markets. Your help in getting the word out will be vital around the release.
The 2006 Sundance Film Festival was a blast. We showed an early cut of the film to sell out crowds. Although we weren't showing the film for official reviews, we got some early buzz. New York Times critic A.O. Scott wrote thatour screening was "one of the most passionate" he'd everseen at Sundance. (To read the article go to http://whokilledtheelectriccar.com and click on "press"). And the online magazine GRIST us a nice nod too. Nearly 1000 people saw this early edition including a large group of highschool students. We listened to feedback, met lots of interesting fired-upaudience members, answered questions, and enjoyed stepping out of the edit room into the theater.
In the meantime, we've been accepted to some top ratedfilm festivals including San Francisco, Tribeca, Mountain Film and Seattle.
4) Mountain Film Festival, Telluride, Co (tentative: May 28)
5) Seattle Film Festival (tentative: June 9)
6) Atlanta Film Festival (tentative: June 11)
US PREMIERE: JUNE 28, 2006
This is all moving very fast. Check the website in the coming weeks for more announcements as we get closer.
As before, thank you in advance for your support. Your efforts to promote the film (especially on its opening weekends) will make a big difference in getting this filmto wider audience.
Best regards ,
Chris and all of us at "Who Killed the Electric Car"
Dr. Jim Burns of SDSU came for the Feb. Meeting to talk about their
Plugin Hybrid Sports car and their current project, a Plugin Hybrid
Midsize SUV for the Challenge X competition. It was very enlightning!
They brought their plug-In Hybrid Sportscar.
For the March 18, 2006 Meeting we have our annually speaker from
Aerovironment: Wally Rippel.
I am a global warming activist. If anyone knows of an electric vehicle
club near Cleveland, Ohio, please forward me a link or a contact. I am
especially interested in an electric moped bicycle. Thank you.
But who cares? fuel cells are a farce anyway.. just a
way to use more petroleum than we are using now. Fuel
cells have nothing to do with alternative energy. For
fuel cells to work there needs to be an alternative
affordable source of hydrogen.

Update from the last meeting, Dr. Jim Burns was called away for work
at the last minute and the wonderful people from EnergyCS filled in
with their plugin Hybrid Prius. The speaker was Pete Nortman, the CEO
of EnergyCS. Paul Scott rescheduled Dr. Jim Burns of SDSU for the Feb.
Meeting to talk about their Plugin Hybrid Sports car and their current
project, a Plugin Hybrid Midsize SUV for the Challenge X competition.
The Sports Car will be on display and most likely available for rides
on Feb. 18, 2006.

I also requested the the board work with SCRRA (Metrolink) and Amtrak
to get hybrid locomotives into their fleet. Since their engines
"stop and go" far more often than freight trains, and their lines are
concentrated in metropolitan areas, they would benefit greatly from
the fuel savings from the Goat, and we would benefit greatly from the
reduced pollution and noise.

The ARB is ready to sign an rail yard agreement with the railroads that will replace the dirtiest diesel engines with the hybrid battery electric Green Goat. They will also add filters on the other yard engines and manage idle time.
The agreement does not address the additional improvements that can be achieved by using oxygenated diesel.
http://www.o2diesel.com/products.php
It also does not address the heavy cross-country loads that require multiple dirty engines coming thru our metropolitan areas. One dual track line thru Los Angeles/Riverside/San Bernardino has over 100 trains per day that are not covered by this agreement.
My suggestion would be to require O˛Diesel fuel and filters to be used within the whole metropolitan area. Special clean escort engines could be switched in the high desert with
the dirty cross-country engines.
Now is the opportunity to express your comments to ARB on the railroad agreement.
