Ciao All from Bologna!
I have had the pleasure of viewing pre'production versions of both
the Paul Smart and the Sport today! Both are truly stunning machines.
I can tell those that have orders in place that you will NOT be
disappointed!!
I will get more details in the days to come ..
See Ya
Alex
I like the beta version of your website ..... if that's a promise of what's around the corner .... great job! I have been contemplating adding a PS1000 to my MH900evoluzione, maybe adding the Sport1000, played with the thought of adding both and ended up ordering none. It's nice to dream, but when reality hits ...... I haven't given up on these dreams, though.
Best Regards,

Hello All,
Nice to find a group of sportclassic owners out there. I put a

I was told I was "first in line" locally, but from what I've heard,
they are not keeping a company "waiting list"...
My current ride is a '99 750 SS (half-faired).
As Woz mentioned in one of his emails, I've been trying to start a
club for Paul Smart owners for over a year (with the help of John
Clelland at ducatiowners.com), but was having a hard time finding
fellow owners. I've built a beta version of a website, which you can
browse at:
http://www.artificialbutter.com/psoc/
I've also been in touch with the factory. They are interested in
getting the club registered, so if there's interest out there let me
know, and I can do the paperwork. We also discussed trying to
organize a visit to the factory when production starts, though this
might be hard to arrange given the state of the dollar these days !
For those who have not seen it, the Ducati North America website has
a photo of the production run model with the green frame.

Hello all,
Sorry I couldn't write to sooner but obiligations.
I had truly Ducati event this past Tuesday when I joined fellow Duc
riders from DESMO group in NYC area for grand opening of Ducati NYC.
About 30+ Ducs running down concrete canyon in Soho was sight and ears
to hold. We really stopped NYC traffic cold! And dealership had parking
in front of store clear for us.
Inside was a cutting edge showroom befitting DUCATI motorcycles. Food
and drinks a plenty (I had H2O ;) ) and DJ spinning cool tunes turned
this opening experience something of club experience.
Of course Sport classic were on display but they weren't production
model according to Mr. Locke. However, I was able to touch and examine
many parts and realize so many parts were same as my mhe model. I was
disappointed that there weren't any race bikes but Neil Hodgson and Eric
Bostrom was there to sign autographs and pose photos with many of us.
Over all, I am happy to see DUCATI back in NYC and owner took care to
make it DUCATI NYC. Now only if I can get them to make decal " DUCATI
MANHATTAN " that I will have on my 749R.
After late dinner in the city I came back home around 2AM, 620 miles
later. I hope PS is as comfortable as my 749R is...
I will post photos as soon as possible but meanwhile some photo can be
found on desmoducati.org under event NYC.

Since there was such little time between the offer to ASBN for discount tickets to this weekend's Infineon Kawasaki AMA Superbike Showdown, and the logistics being insurmountable, Infineon has gone the "extra mile" for ASBN, and all of us who want discount admission to this weekend's races at Infineon, the Kawasaki AMA Superbike Showdown.
Here's what you do.
Call MICHELLE NORMAN

Direct: (707) 933-3931
Fax: (707) 938-8430

She will take your ticket order over the phone, it must be an advance ticket purchase and you can charge them with your Mastercard, or Visa right then and there. You will receive the American Sport Bike Night discount, given to group sales however you must do several things during the phone call.
Call Michelle at (707) 933-3931
Tell her you want your tickets for the Superbike races
Tell her which day(s)
You must say you're with the American Sport Bike Night Group Discount group
You must use my name
"Woz" will work
Michael Wozniak will work
American Sport Bike Night will work
Your tickets will be at WILL CALL for you to pick up the day you arrive at Infineon.
Michelle has been wonderful going the "extra mile" to insure that we get a chance to go to the races, and to give us a "break" on the prices for the weekend.
I will be riding with RKA on Thursday, and I'll be there on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and don't forget that Rider Radio will be broadcasting live from Infineon on Sunday morning!
So, call Michelle ASAP, give her the required info, and we'll see you at Infineon this weekend!
Hi!
Opening is from 7 to 10 and it is on 155 Ave. Of America.
Group of 30 Ducati riders from desmoducati.org will be making police
escorted ride to dealership. There will be Hodgson and E-boz on hand to
sign autograph and hopefully plenty of eye candy to see. Afterward,
group of us will be at Ear bar hanging out so if you can make it, please
join. You can find many details at desmoducati.org site.
See you around

p.s. where about of NJ are you from? my mother lives in Alpine, NJ and I
often ride down to see her.
I'm from the Northeast and also have the MHe... but I
am keeping mine :) I have the GT1000 on order.
Wanted something with 2 seats to keep the wife happy.
I live in Jersey. When is the NYC opening?

Yes, unfortunately I don't want to hold on to Mhe once I get PS. I will
be taking delivery of PS from Riverside Motorsports near Boston and they
told me end of this year as possibility but I think it's going to be
more like next spring.
I am looking forward to tomorrow night's function and I will upload
photos as soon as possible. Is all the member from west coast? Anyonne

Hi Chris,
Welcome aboard. Couple of questions: Are you going
to get rid of your MHe (you mentioned 'replace') and
from which dealer will you be taking delivery of your
PS Rep?
Look forward to your photos. Wonder if it'll be the
original prototype or one of the first batch.
Terblanche says the production item is almost
identical to the prototype. The paint's going to be
the big giveaway. In the meantime, here are some
photos I took of the Sportclassics at the NEC show in
Birmingham, November '03.

I hope everyone in the area can make it to American Sport Bike Night this coming Monday evening, as we have a spectacular show planned.
Check out the website at http://www.AmericanSportBikeNight.com and thanks to our webmaster, Jim Armstrong, he's put up the story about the longest motorcycle race on the planet, and our guests who participated and finished.
For all you future Smart owners out there.. Wouldn't it be too cool
to meet Paul in the flesh.. :-)

American Sport Bike Night this Monday, April 4th is going to be a great one. Amy Holland the editor and publisher of Friction Zone magazine will be one of our guest speakers, and No. 11 National ranked Hill Climb Pro Pete Kusinich and his son Petey (Repete) who just turned 14 will be there, with the hillclimber bikes, and stories about this weekend's pro-hillclimb event at Carnegie SVRA.
I was there today (Friday) and watched Pete and his son Petey run up that hill, and Petey held the fast time of the day for a short time against all those pros out there.
Tomorrow, Saturday the nitro burning big bore bikes will attack the hill, and by the excitement, excellent weather and crowd today, tomorrow is going to be a wonderful event.
I am planning on going back on both Saturday and Sunday (Sunday's the "BIG" day) and I can't tell you how much fun it is to watch these guys (and gals, yes, a very talented young female teenager was right there with them posting very respectable times) to see the rest of the event.
So, on Monday, at ASBN, not only do we have Amy Holland, to answer questions, share her insight and talk about the coming riding year, but several of the team members, and their bikes will be at the Straw Hat Pizza Parlor at 14680 Washington Blvd. in San Leandro.
I'll be there at 6 PM setting up, and the gavel drops promptly at 7 PM. Remember, we set the clocks ahead tomorrow night, so the sun will be out an hour later on Monday.
I hope to see you there, and listen to Rider Radio on Sunday at 7 AM on KNBR 680am to hear my personal experiences at the Carnegie Hill Climbs.
This coming Monday evening, April 4th at 7 PM the April edition of American Sport Bike Night will once again be held at the Straw Hat Pizza Parlor located at 14680 Washington Avenue, in San Leandro. I will be there before 6 PM setting up and getting ready, so you're welcome to come early and "kick tires", in the parking lot and meet and greet everyone. This is the first ASBN after the time change, so it's going to be lighter outside much later from now on.
All are welcome to attend, and this Monday, we're lucky to have Amy Holland, founder, editor and publisher of Friction-Zone Magazine in attendance, and answering your questions. Friction-Zone http://www.Friction-Zone.com is a wonderful publication that you can find in most motorcycle shops, dealerships and many other places that's an all-encompassing moto-centric publication that has great articles, pictures, columns, tips and product information. Amy is a wonderful motorcycle enthusiast and has plenty of good news to share.
We'll be talking about the Hill Climbs at Carnegie happening this weekend, and what was there and who we saw, and we'll be talking about the races this coming May 13-15 at Infineon Raceway, the Kawasaki AMA Superbike Showdown.
I went to the practice session on Thursday ( a couple of weeks ago), and it was spectacular to get autographs from Tommy Hayden, Roger Hayden, Eric Bostrom, Neal Hodgson, Jason DiSalvo, Jamie Hacking, Ben Spees, Matt Mladin, and this was all on the same helmet. I can't wait to see them all racing at Infineon in only about six weeks.
I'm sure we'll have an entire dialogue about the upcoming MotoGP at Laguna Seca in July. Tickets, rooms, transportation, etc. will be discussed. I know only that I'll be at Cannery Row on Saturday, July 9th, at about 3 PM to get a good place to watch "The Show" on Cannery Row. There is a new look to the Laguna-Seca website, and a dedicated page to the MotoGP. There is also a countdown clock, which indicates only 103 days before the event. http://www.Laguna-Seca.com
We'll be discussing anything you want, as this is an open forum for our attendees, and as usual, we'll be hoping to gather sponsors for our monthly raffle. Bring a t-shirt, a poster or anything to give away, and we'll make sure you're credited as an ASBN sponsor. As usual, there are no dues, rules or anyone in charge at ASBN, and the raffle is always free.
Rex Chaney is putting together a system for destination rides, where we can network with other attendees and ride the wonderful roads of NorCal. Events are welcome to be promoted, and you can get directions at our website http://www.AmericanSportBikeNight.com
Rex Chaney and I are currently planning on attending the BRAG Homecoming, in June. We have the hotel, and I'm making airline reservations soon. If anyone wishes to join us, let Rex or myself know so we can plan additional resources. The Homecoming is centered in West Bend, Wisconsin between East Troy where we'll have lunch, a tour of the Buell factory, and Elkhart Lake, home of Road America where on Sunday, we'll be at the track for the AMA Superbike races there. (June 2-5)
Last month, to recap, we had a lot of fun at ASBN with our first "Rat Bike Night" and Rat Helmet Night, with some very interesting entries. We have plenty of fun things planned for the remainder of the year, and this is the place to bring your ideas, suggestions, places to go, things to see, and best rides to share.
So, I hope to see you on this First Monday of the month in San Leandro.,
I want to thank everyone who came to San Francisco Bay Area Ducati Night last night at Pizza Antica in Lafayette, California. Even though it was raining heavily, two enthusiastic Ducati riders arrived, and my MH900e was there even if it did arrive all nice and dry in the trailer. (it wasn't dry for long)
Jack Van Voast took pictures, Rex Chaney came by for a few minutes after a two week junket at the Safeway LPGA tournament, and John Clelland brought some raffle prizes. Since there were more prizes than people there, everyone got to take a Ducati goodie home.
I can't remember the names of everyone else that was there, it seemed as if the "screen names" were used more than actual names but it was very good to meet and chat with everyone. Like I said, the weather was wet, cold, and blustery and I can only predict that as the weather warms up this Spring and Summer in Contra Costa County, there will be dozens and dozens of motorcycles parked in front of Pizza Antica at 3600 Mount Diablo Blvd.
Here is the link to the event, and the calendar for the year.
While we were there, we discussed LDD2005 in La Honda, and everyone is already excited about the event. Here's the link to that one, that I'm already anxious to attend.
So, the first Monday of each month is filled with something to do with motorcycles. The First Monday of the month is American Sport Bike Night (ASBN) http://www.AmericanSportBikeNight.com (April 4th, we'll have Amy Holland of Friction Zone as our guest speaker)
The Second Monday of each month is SFBADN in San Jose at Santana Row
And the Third Monday of each month is SFBADN in Lafayette, which will become a very well attended affair I'm sure.
Thanks again to everyone who dropped by last night, and to JohnC who's responsible for the success of the MH900e group. DOC pins were distributed to those who came last night, which was another benefit of coming by. The pizza and coffee at Pizza Antica are always superb, at both locations, so don't forget to support our sponsors.

Alex, I was not able to put the GT1000 pic in the correct folder; are you as owner / moderator of the forum, able to move it?
Hello Fellow Ducati Sport Classic Enthusiasts!
Here's the answer to the questions, as I'm still working on my first post.
I figured that I would get in now however and fill you in...
I started my purchase a year ago (March 2004) with Ducati of Modesto when
the first opportunity to order was available. I met a chap in Monterey 2004
at Ducati Island, when I was with John Clelland and the Ducati Owner's Club

guy wishing to start the Paul Smart DOC was from Oregon or Washington if I
remember correctly. John should have his name, and we should get him on
this list)

Glad to be among you. By now you guys with orders in
will all have received the same from Ducati, but just
in case, here's part of a message I wrote to the
bevelheads group two weeks ago:
"Got another letter from Federico Minoli this evening
that said, in part:
'The great news is that the production of the bikes
will be ahead of schedule, with both the Paul Smart
1000 and the Sport 1000 being delivered the last
quarter of 2005, and the GT1000 in late spring 2006.
The development team has done a superb job by
delivering the Sport 1000 more than 6 months early and
the GT1000 more than a year ahead of schedule."
The package also contained a Ducati SportClassic
bandana in PS Rep colors. Nice touch.
There was also a brochure describing the 2005 Motogiro
(24-28 May from Cattolica in Rimini to Gradara in
Pesaro-Urbino).
In closing, Minoli said "thank you for your trust in
and enthusiam for Ducati." '
OK, so they're not making bevels anymore and this may
be a paragraph out of HD's book - but I like it all
the same."
