RE: [4/6 Cyl] Damaged Grand Prix

The incompetence of the service departments at various GM dealerships never
ceases to amaze me. Like the time I had to take my bro-in-law's brand new
T/A in for a rattle. The service manager starts the car, hears the rattle
and proceeds to STAND on the exhaust tips. Of course the rattle stops. In
his infinite wisdom he says it's not a warranty issue and that he would
charge he $70/hr to diagnose the car. Seeing as how the car was 6 months old
I told him to f**k off and took it elsewhere. Turns out a nut fell of the
exhaust hanger and the bracket rattled against the muffler.

My Mom's fiances' mom (got that?) has a 2000 Grand
Prix SE 2dr. It's a lease vehicle so she takes it back
to the dealer where she bought it for service (oil
changes, tire rotation... yawn yawn yawn)
She had the oil changed Friday and she drove it from
Middlebury VT down to Bridport Vt (about 10 miles) and
she noticed the oil light was on. She pulled into my
Mom's and called Shea Motors and told them what was
going on. They told her that a sensor had gone south
and it was nothing to worry about. Marilla (who is
just shy of 65) yells back, oil sensors don't knock!
Those idiots tell her to drive it back to the
dealership. So she gets on the phone and dials up the
DSO (or equivalent) and they have a flatbed grab the
car on Saturday.
They get the car back to the dealership and there was
about a cup of oil in it. The mechanic had never
filled the engine with oil! The service manager tells
her that they will fill it with oil and that it will
be fine.
Nope... I want either a new engine in it or a new car.
GM backed her up all the way. She hasn't decided on a
Firebird or a Z24.
TRUST NO ONE
Just thought y'all would get a laugh out of that.
