That Village Inn is close to where I work. If it's at 7:00, that's not a factor, as I dont work that late.
That location is fine with me. I can't do Mondays, ever. This week I'm busy on Tues/Thursday, also.

My name is Adam and member of the local maxiscooter riding group in Minnesota. When Tom announced the creation of this group, I wanted to extend a hello and welcome to the fellow maxiscooterists in the Colorado area. Based on the scootering and motorcycle activity in the Denver area alone, I suspect this group will grow quick.
This is a great activity that just seems to get better as more people join the fun. I wish for you all success and a wonderful time exploring by maxi the beautiful roads in your state.
If there is anything I can do to help, feel free to let me
know. Also feel free to stop by our web pages anytime. While a bit area focused, we do have some neat discussions and undoubtedly we all can benefit from the sharing of our experience and insight.
OK, so far it looks like we have about 8 people in the group. This is
really looking promising.
Lets try to get together some night after work. I was thinking about 6
or 7 at Village Inn on Parker Road and Arapahoe. Try to plan a ride
over the next weekend. What do you all think?
I am open to other suggestions on time and place.
What hours does everyone work?
Thanks

Not sure on the length of ride yet, but most likely would be 100 miles or less.
But I guess that will be discussed when we meet.

Every three years or so, we save our penneys and go to

This time it is France, 5 days in Paris, 5 days in the

I hope to find a motorcycle/scooter shop to look at,

No fun riding in the rain. So I made a quick trip down

just to get it out of my system a little.

Welcome to the group. I am hoping this group is going to take off, and so far it looks really promising. I joined another yahoo group for Maxi Scooters and will try to follow what they did for great sucess. This is not really a club, so no dues or fees. We will just try to make plans and take group rides and get togethers. I am open for any suggestions.
I own a Honda Helix. It is a 250 cc scooter and I really like how comfortable it is.
I use my scoot to commute to and from work, daily as long as there is not snow or ice on the roads.
I started out a long time ago on dirt bikes. In the 80s i got a street bike, but that ended quickly after I went down. Now I am back on two wheels and love it. My wife tried to a Honda Metro, but she is not into riding on her own. We may
ride two up on some occassions, but I need more practice in that department with her on the back.
I have taken a few longer rides. One ride was to Kit Carson, CO. That ride was about 300 miles round trip. My last trip was to Norton KS on route 36. That was a long ride, about 600+ miles. That was a 12 hour ride. I took that ride to build endurance for longer rides. I would like to ride to PA to visit family with out spending an arm and a leg for fuel.
I am looking forward to the 100 - 300 mile rides with this group. I would want to stay off the interstate system as much as possible.
If others are up to take longer rides, we could arrange for that.
There are some rules to follow when you take group rides. Ideas I got from the other Maxi Scooter group.
1. We
would need a group leader. Someone to plan the ride. Have maps so everyone would know where to go in case people get seperated, which is very possible.
2. The way to ride in a group. I will post some of this information soon.
Feel free to make a folder and add pictures.
Any one an artist? Would like to see some kind of group logo. Lets see what people can come up with.
Here is the group I have been using to help me set up this group. They have a yahoo group and a web site. Here is the link to their web site.
Especially look over the Rides section on there web site. Lots of great information, to have safe rides. Above all, I want us to have fun,
but be SAFE.
I will contact them and ask for permission to copy a lot of their information.

Most of our rides have been less than 200 miles. We tend more to touring than qausi-racing and would love to have a group we enjoyed riding with. I think I am a decent rider, though I started late ( I am now 52), but I am always aware I have lots
still to learn. Safety is a priority with us. If you want, call my cell at 303 249 3431. I will ride sometime tomorrow, unless the rain keeps up. It may not be an epic ride, but I want to go out if possible. Or could meet you for coffee? Later Rob

Hi, my name is Rob, my wife is Lisa. I have a
2004 Scarabeo 500, and Lisa has a 400cc
Burgman. We live in Englewood, near Hampden
and Broadway.
I graduated from a 150 to the 500 in 2004.
Lisa got her Burgman last year, and took the
Motorcycle training course. She is still new,
but doing well. Having a group to ride with
might be helpful.
I tried to get a Maxi Scooter club going last year,
and found it difficult--no,-- impossible, and
finally gave up. I am hoping you have more
luck!
We tend to ride on Sundays, mostly to avoid
Saturday traffic. We tend to get off early ( 7am!)and
return before the heat gets up too much in the
summer ( 1pm).
Sometimes we have breakfast out.
Rides we have enjoyed:
Sedalia, castlerock, Monument, Parker.
Boulder on 93 ( 2 up)
We have ridden 2 up from breckenridge
back to denver on 285.
To Pine junction and back from Denver.
Most of our rides have been less
than 200 miles.
We tend more to touring than qausi-racing
and would love to have a group we enjoyed riding with.

I tried adding photos earlier. Yahoo sometimes accepts sometimes not. I think pic size might be the problem but I'll have it figured out by the am. Jgl

Hi Jerry,
One of the reasons I called it Maxi. I do not want to discourage others from joining, they move up to a bigger scooter and would be welcomed to join in on rides then. I call my bike Big Red.
Check out the phot area. I have added a few in my folder. You are welcome to add some photos also.
I am looking forward to making this a great group, lots of great freinds and great rides.
Well, I guess we're off to a good start with three members.
I live in SE Aurora, drive a 2002 Honda Reflex, candy apple red. It'll be nice to have some folks to ride with. My ex-H had a Goldwing, I miss having taking joy rides.

Welcome to the group Jim. Most of our rides will not be suited for
you. Do you ever plan to move up to a MAXI scooter any time. You are
welcome to hang with this group and get ideas and even come to
gatherings, but the rides would work for you.
Any other group members have input for Jim?

It was a good idea to call it a Maxi Scooter club. I rode an eighty for
10 years and know I couldn't keep up on Parker road. The smaller bikes
are great urban bikes but not well suited for touring. I look forward
to meetings, gatherings and trips. I call my bike Gort.
