This is the discussion group of the Washington DC Area Vintage Motorcycle Riders which is a local group of enthusiasts with a focus on the preservation, restoration, and riding of vintage German made motorcycles (though owners of all vintage bikes are welcome). The group was founded to enable these like-minded individuals to arrange rides, meet socially, and share their collective knowledge, resources, and technical expertise. The group stands as the first local club chartered by the Veteran Motorcycle Club of America (VMCA #1). The group used to be the only MOA-chartered vintage club, but the marque (starts with a B, ends with a W, and has an M in the middle) made it clear that they didn't place any value on vintage clubs / owners, and that we were not allowed to mention their name or use their logo in any fashion that related the club to the marque. Nonetheless, the spirit of the club is lighthearted (and sometimes self-effacing) fun with an emphasis on camaraderie amongst its members.
