Hello Crosley Group, My name is Ron I'm a new member and in need of
some Help.
I am going to look at a 1939 to 42 Crosley convertible but not sure
what a fair price would be for the car, it is in fair to poor condition
rusty no top not running. Just a ballpark figure will do.

Maybe someday we'll read one of these popular "Worst-Cars" lists where the writer actually owned, drove, or was  acquainted with the vehicle in question.
I'll speak for the Crosley "Hotshot" shown, which is actually a Crosley Super Sports powered by SOC cast-iron 'CIBA' engines, not the imaginary DOC copper-brazed stamped-steel engines created for the story.

Vehicle Description (verbatim)

1952 Crosley Super Sedan. Great condition. I bought this car about 3
years ago. It has been professionally repainted and the engine
rebuilt before my purchasing. It starts and runs good.

Shortly after my purchasing I changed jobs and now do not have the
time to enjoy this car. It is a real fun car to drive. Always gets a
thumbs up when your out for a drive. I have not driven it in the last
year, but start it every month and move it around the yard.
Everything works that I am aware of. The paint does have two chips.
One on the front where the hood comes down and one on the passenger
side door edge. Otherwise the paint is in excellent condition. The
underside was recoated also. The interior upolstery needs to be
completed. I just do not have the time. It could be done yourself if
you know a seamstress, as it is a fairly simple interior.

The following items do need attention:

Carburator needs adjusting - or may just need some fresh gas.

Seal between fill tube and gas tank leaks when too full. It is a
rubber seal.

Front passenger brake needs adjusting as it grabs when it gets hot

Needs interior finished

Completed items:

Has newer brakes - - - Water pump and generator work good - - -
windshield wipers work

all new rubber seals on windows - - - new wiring harness - - -Floor
is original - only small area on drivers side about 12" square was
replaced

Transmission works fine - - - has heater but is missing inside cover -
  - - newer exhaust

Tires are good but do show some cracking on sides - - - all new
chrome bumpers - no rust shine great - - - rims have been blasted and
repainted white

propeller is there and in great condition - - - hood ornament is an
original - - - all glass is good no cracks

have fender ornaments and bumperettes but they need rechroming

I have tried to list all things I know about this car but please
remember it is over 50 years old

If you would like to view this car before purchase email and we can
set up a time to see it. If you need additional pictures please email
me and I can send them out. This is a great little fun car to own. I
do not really want to sell but just do not have the time to enjoy.
Most parts are easily available through a number of vendors. The
Crosley Automobile Club members can offer a wealth of knowledge to
help with anything needed about Crosleys. This was the last year
Crosleys were produced and only around 225 Sedans were made the last
year. Have many extra parts that I may include if the price is
right. Please do not bid if you do not plan to purchase. I can help
assist to ship but buyer has to arrange all shipping. Thank you for
viewing my auction and please ask any questions before bidding.

Also have a 1948 Crosley Convertible that will be selling soon. Email
for details.

Note to buyers: car does have original 6 volt negative ground system

has newer battery and blinker light switch

car has roll up windows

has original points, condenser and coil - can be updated to
electronic if desired

(Note: Mileage is advertised as 16,000 +. Photos are posted in our CD
Photos collection.)

Subject: Powel Crosley's personal Farm-O-Road: eBay.
mrcooby
Send Email Send Email

CINCINNATI: 1949 Crosley Farm-O-Road Original Prototype. This
vehicle is from the Bill Angert Estate Collection of nine (9)
Crosley automobiles. Bill Angert was the Narrator/Historian in the
PBS documentary "Powel Crosley and the 20th Century". Bill Angert's
1952 Crosley Station Wagon is currently on display in the Auburn,
Cord, Duesenberg Museum in Auburn, Indiana, and several of his cars
have been featured in Automobile Quarterly. Seven of his nine
Crosleys are National Award winning automobiles at Crosley Nationals
in Wauseon, Ohio. This vehicle is one of 2 Farm-O-Road Prototypes.
The existence of the other one is unknown. My Father's journal
describes this car as being built in 1947 and tested and modified
through 1949. The Farm-O-Road went into production and was sold for
three years: 1950~1952. Less than 600 production vehicles were made.
This car was used by Powel Crosley on the Crosley Estate in
Cincinnati, Ohio, and most of the pictures in the sales catalogs and
promotional posters were of this car. This car was purchased at
auction out of the carraige house on the grounds of the Crosley
Estate in the early 1960's after Powel's death. The car was put in
storage after its purchase by a buyer with intentions to restore it.
It was never uncovered until my Father purchased it from the buyer's
estate in 1982. My Father totally restored this vehicle, and it won
1st Place at Crosley Nationals in 1991. This prototype has 4-wheel
disc brakes (production models had drum brakes). The tie rod is
located in front of the axle (production models were located behind
the front axle). This car has a dual range (high & low) 3- speed
transmission. It has front and rear hydraulic hitches for a variety
of attachments and farm implements that were available as
accessories. It has a rear power take-off that has a governor
control. This vehicle is being sold with NO TITLE. This car does not
have (and never had) a vin/serial number, since it was a hand-built
prototype, and was not for sale. It was used exclusively for design
and testing purposes, and later used at the Powel Crosley Estate
(Pinecroft), in Cincinnati. I will provide BILL OF SALE only since
this vehicle has never been titled since it was built. This was my
Father's favorite Crosley because it was a unique one of a kind
vehicle that was actually owned and driven by Powel Crosley himself.
My Father drove this car in parades, and displayed it at various Car
Shows until his passing in 2003. Since that time it has been
maintained in climate controlled storage, and runs as perfectly as
the day my Dad drove it in the garage for the last time. Everything
on this vehicle is in excellent condition and working. I will
include an owners/operating manual concerning the features of this
car. This is a great opportunity to own a special piece of
automotive history. The pictures tell the story. Please contact me
if you wish to view/drive this vehicle which is located in
Cincinnati, Ohio (home of Crosley Motors). Shipping or pickup costs
and arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. Payment must
be made in cash or by certified/cashiers bank check within 7 days of
the auction close. Please contact me with any questions.......thank
you for looking! The other Crosley cars and any related parts or
items in my Father's Estate are not being offered at this time. Any
future offering for sale of these items, and the method of sale, has
yet to be determined by the Family. Thank you for your interest.

This car has incorrect wheels but otherwise seems to be complete.

"1950 Crosley station wagon in good restorable condition. Body is
very good for a car this old, does require patches to front floor.
This car has disc brakes. See pictures for overall condition. The
grey and black engine is the engine for this car.It has new rings
and a valve job. It has been run on a stand and runs very well. It
is very complete and and is ready to br dropped into the car. This
car has a good Ohio title. The glass is all there, some usable and
some cracked. The gas tank needs to have the bottom repaired. Also
included is another 1950 wagon parts car. This car has a lot of
usable pieces like the doors, tail gate pieces(which will need work),
guages etc, but most importantly, it is a disc brake car also,
therefore it provides a lot of disc brake parts. Also, as shown in
the pictures, there is another complete engine, transmission and
radiator. The engine is disassembled and is ready to be rebuilt.
Also shown in the pictures are a lot of extra parts. There are 2 tin
blocks, a Faegol block,2 trans cases, manifolds, pistons, rods,
camhafts, oil pans, crankshaft etc, etc. If you have any questions,
please email. Naturally, this must be picked up. No paypal on this
sale, moneyorder, bank check or cash at time of pickup.I can hold
for 30 to 60 days as long as payment is made within 10 days. This is
being sold as is with no warrenty. If you want to look at this
car, email me to set up arrangements. I will not disclose reserve,
so please dont ask."

Adrian, Michigan:

VINTAGE CROSLEY POWERED THREE QUARTER MIDGET RACE CAR - amazingly
fine original condition.

The tail and nose were hand formed from aluminum and are believed to
be Hiligas.

The cowling and hood are hand formed steel. No fiberglas.

This car was built in 1956 and raced in the Cleveland, Ohio area
until it was parked in 1958. It has been in storage since then.

This car would make a great addition to any collection.

The winning bidder must send a deposit of $500.00 via PayPal within
24 hours of the close of the auction with the balance to be paid by
cash or certified check upon pick-up.

Please note: No Shipping - winning bidder must pick this up. Car is
located in S.E. Michigan.

Please email me for further information

Only one of the 3 has a grease fitting.  I believe someone added it BUT its my belief that one should be installed on each side in order to maintain balance.  In fact with modern steel shielded enclosed bearings I question the need to have any grease fitting.  But that is why I am asking.

Robert Kirk
