Hello, Crosley Car Owners:

My name is Branden Martz;
I am the student director
of the University of
Wisconsin Stevens Point
Art Gallery.

In September our Gallery
will be hosting a show
called "HUMBLE".
This is a design show of
objects that were
manufactured between the
years 1900-1955.
I am looking for a CROSLEY
for this show and am
wondering if you could put
me in contact with anyone
in or around the state of
Wisconsin who has a nice
collection and who you
would think would be
interested in this
endeavor. All goods will
be covered under the UW
system insurance policy.
Please contact me with any
concerns and or comments.

Thanks for your time and I
look forward to hearing
from you.

Summary
Vehicle Description 1951 Crosley 1951 CrosleySuper Sport Convertible22,895 Original Miles! You are viewing a very nice, privately owned 1951 Crosley Super Sport Convertible. Classic Cars Online is helping the owner with the presentation and listing of this fine automobile. Are you ready for the summer? Fed up about gasoline prices? What a cool car this would be running around town doing all your summer activities with. This roadster is a "Turn Key" type of car. Get in and start enjoying summer and create lasting memories for you and your family. The owner will describe and go over this entire vehicle. He has owned this 22,895 original actual mile car for the last 19 years. This is the Super Sport model. It was above the other model, the "Hot Shot" that year. It was considered to be a dressed up version with doors and a few other extra items. Would you buy a vehicle on ebay with four pictures and one paragraph of description? NO. That is why at Classic Cars Online, our listings will go over every area of the vehicle that is up for auction along with showing a large photo gallery of the vehicle. Bid with confidence. Click on the link below to read a road test review from the March 1951 issue of Motor Trend Magazine on the '51 Crosley Super Sport. March 1951 Motor Trend Road Test Description written by Owner. GENERAL:I purchased the car in March 1987 in Medina, Ohio. The previous owner rebuilt the engine and did the bodywork, interior, and paint. Overall it is a good running, dependable (For a Crosley), and fun car to drive. It has a non-syncromesh transmission, so brush up on your double-clutching technique. My family really enjoyed it when my kids were young, now its someone else's turn. PAINT/BODY:The car was painted 20 years ago. While still very presentable, it has a number of small chips that have been touched up. there are some small bubbles on the right rear fender. The yellow paint is supposedly correct for this year, but I do not know for sure. There is no surface rust or rust on the undercarriage. The wording "Crosley" on the bottom of the doors is not original. CHROME/TRIM:There are no missing chrome or trim items. The chrome and brightwork is in excellent condition. The hood ornament was broken and repaired and shows it. The instrument trim rings are slightly pitted, but still presentable. INTERIOR:The interior was done 20 years ago. Seats have been reupholstered since that. I do not know if the interior was done to match the original. The fuel gauge and the original temperature gauge do not work. It does have an auxiliary temperature gauge that does work. All lights, turn signals, horn, etc., are working. Has a radio, but does not work. Windshield glass is O.K. Has set of top bows and straps. the top is worn, but still serviceable. Has set of side curtains also. There are two sets of seat belts in the vehicle. It also has a set of side glass wind deflector wings mounted on the front windshield. ENGINE/MECHANICS:The original engine(44 cid), was rebuilt by the previous owner. It runs very strong (All 26.5 Horses), and holds good oil pressure. The rear end, transmission, and clutch have been replaced. The car was rewired in 1987. The radiator, belts, hoses, etc., were last updated on 2001. The generator works, but not consistently. I had it professional rebuilt but has had problems ever since. (Loose wire?) Has small oil leak at rear of oil pan. The brakes are O.K., and has silicone brakes fluid. FRAME UNDERCARRIAGE: Good overall shape. No surface rust and was painted by previous owner. The muffler, tailpipe, etc., are all O.K. (Nine times out of ten, people selling a car on ebay will not talk about the undercarriage/frame, much less show any photos of the underside. The undercarriage tells you a lot abou ...see full item description...

WOW!
I can't believe that it is only
two weeks until the Gould's
Eleventh Annual Microcar &
Minicar Classic Event.

All of the details are at
_www.bubbledrome.com_
(http://www.bubbledrome.com) .

If you have not registered yet,
you should do so immediately as
the hotel room block is almost
sold out. The deadline for the
hotel discount has been
extended till this Saturday,
June 24, 2006, so you only have
two more days to secure your
hotel reservation at the
discounted rate of $89.00 per
night.

Please email if you require a
registration brochure or
additional information.

This will be a huge fun event,
and we already have more than
100 registered guests with over
45 cars already registered.

We anticipate that we will have
over 100 cars attending for
this event. We have several
micro-tours and activities
planned all weekend long, and
this is an event that should
not be missed. There will be
vendors for T-Shirts, Mugs,
toys, Spark plugs, oil, etc.
Lots of great stuff.

This year, we will also be
joined by the Nash Metropolitan
Club, and the New England Mini
Owners group (NEMO).

The Margaritas are being
blended and frozen, and the
plans for the huge eclectic
barbecue are well underway.

Do not miss this event.

See you all in two weeks!

We have persuaded the hotel to
extend the registration

I am trying to add additional

Crosleys at Auction
Posted by: mark.beacom

Here is the post
Auction report I have
prepared for last
Saturday's Auction. If
any of you would like
to consign your
Crosleys, please feel
free to contact me.

On 6-24-06 at 12:00
noon at 4515 N 65th ave
in Omaha, Auction
Solutions LLC conducted
the Lloyd Texley Estate
Auction. Lloyd was an
Omaha area OPS
administrator and
educator that passed
away about 1 year ago.
Lloyd's daughters hired
Auction Solutions to
liquidate the estate.
All of his cars were
low mileage and in
excellent condition,
including 5 Crosleys of
various years.
The vehicles came on
the auction block at
1:30PM.

One of the Crosleys was
painted in a red and
white checkerboard
pattern. It was a 1947
sedan that had been in
storage for a number of
years.

When the pictures of
the car appeared on the
internet it was spotted
by the Son-in-law of
its previous owner, who
had used it for
promotional purposes in
their Carrol, IA Purina
mill.

The son-in-law
purchased this vehicle
back for sentimental
reasons for $2530.00.

The other Crosleys sold
in a range between
$1650.00-$3575.00.

The weather started out
a little bumpy Saturday
morning with a steady
rain. The setup crew
covered the property
with tents and then set
the sale up in the
rain, Once the sale
began, the rain ended
and the crowd poured
in. 201 bidder numbers
were assigned, but the
crowd was estimated at
500 onlookers and
bidders.

Onsite Bidders
registered were from
Australia to Arkansas,
and internet bidders
were registered from
Canada, England and 13
other states in the US.

Thanks to everyone for
their hard work and
participation.

FWIW,
The rolls 20/25 was a depression era vehicle..several
were loaned "bought" at discount for taxi service in
the UK. Top speed is 50mph and that's
pushing....about what a Crosely should be expected.
Top dollar in the collector market is $35M....given it
would take at least 50M to "correct" the tired vehicle
a selling price of $44M is more than a tad
OVERVALUE...I was there for each and every car sale
(via telephone) and couldn't get a decent bid in to
value. Goes to show you no matter where, a good
auctioneer can DRIVE UP prices and the internet is his
friend!!!! None of the cars went cheap and none at
what I consider realistic value......
Was pleased to see the Ralston Purina sedan go back to
its family....just hope they have the 3-5M $ to do it
up right!!!

Regards,
Robert Kirk

All of the discount rate hotel

I may still have an
opportunity to reassign one or
two rooms at a discounted
rate.

So, if you still need a room
for this weekend, you need to
call me (617-965-1333)
immediately to see if I can
reassign some rooms which may
not be used this weekend.
Otherwise, these rooms will
revert back to the full room
rate.

Likewise, if you have a
reservation that you do not
intend to keep, please let me
know immediately so that I can
reassign it.

Thank you,

Hi folks!

Todays's N.W. Minicar-Microcar meet was a huge success ! The weather was perfect, (nice cool morning with shade, and a little hot later in the afternoon), the people attandance and company great ( we now need a bigger place ), food was good ( who ate all the maple bars ? ), and 3 out of 4 cars that overheated and or broke down on the long haul senic drive were fixed and made it home safely.

Thanks everyone!

Urgggh! Please don't speak
so loudly. We are all
nursing some pretty fine
hangovers! Actually there
are several photos posted
at the following sites!

Rod & Wendy absolutely
blew us away with their
Kitty Cab Company Fiat
650 Taxi (Photo below)!
This little Fiat Taxi was
gorgeous in pearlescent
yellow and white. Wendy
designed the Kitty Cab
Company logo (and
the "Almost Cheaper than
Walking" slogan which I
had suggested from the
Peel Trident advertising
materials in the 60's).
And all of these raves are
coming from a guy (me) who
really prefers stock
original cars.
We had over 200 guests,
and around 80 cars on the
show field not counting
our own cars which were
still back at the house.
We had a huge turnout at
the public exhibit and we
had fabulous weather
throughout the weekend.
This Mercedes Unimog
hauler was incredible as
the rear wheels are lifted
and then extend outward,
to enable the bed platform
to "kneel down" to allow
the cars to drive up the
ramp.
The food was amazing, and
the friends and
participants were even
better! We had relatively
few mechanical failures
until Sunday night just
after dark, when the cars
started dropping like
flies. Out of a late-night
parade of seven cars,
five dropped out with
several mechanical
problems ranging from a
dead battery (Jeff's KR
200) to two flat tyres
(Mini Panel Van & Fiat
Giardinera), to a
split water hose (Renault
Dauphine) to out of gas
(Metropolitan). But we did
some creative McGyver type
repairs, and some really
creative trailer loading
and got everyone home and
running by midnight!
The repairs and retrievals
are some of our favorite
times together, followed
by some "bench racing"
over Margaritas, which
were especially fine this
weekend thanks to the
amazing two stroke
margarita blender
presented to me by
Faith Lamprey and Bruce
Vild from the New England
Mini Owners group. There
is a photo of it in the
web sites referenced
above. This is an actual
Margarita blender with a
two-stroke weed whacker
engine mounted on it to
run the blender. It has
motorcycle grips with a
motorcycle throttle. It
was a real crowd pleaser
as we mixed up the special
blend of Gould's two
stroke formula!
If you missed the Microcar
Classic this year, you
missed a really cool
event. See you all next
year!

More photos to follow on
our Bubbledrome web site
in the next few days.
