Description
Welcome to the Clark Tugs group page.
This discussion group is for anyone interested in 1940-1982 Clarkat and 1940-1963 Clarktor tow tractors manufactured by the Clark Equipment Co.
The purpose of this group is to exchange technical information and knowledge on the identification, restoration, repair, parts sourcing, and operation of vintage Clark tow tractors. It is also a place where you can advertise to buy or sell Clark tugs or tug parts.
If you wish to participate in this group, simply press the "Join This Group" button, above.
Please note that you cannot attach photos to postings. Please start an album in Photos and upload your photos to it.
Original specification sheets for many Clarkats and Clarktors are available for viewing by clicking on FILES. Many Clarkat and Clarktor parts and maintenance manuals are also available along with photos, illustrations, and lists of common service parts. Additional Clarktor maintenance manuals are available at Clark Manuals (http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/ClarkManuals/).
Before posting a question, please be sure to read the Clarkat or Clarktor FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) in FILES.
Original ship date and customer information is available for most Clarkats and Clarktors. Just post your Clark tug's serial number and I will look up the records. If you wish, you can instead send an e-mail to me at oldclarkguy@roadrunner.com and I will respond to you with the information.
Sources of Clarkat and Clarktor literature and parts are available by clicking on LINKS and DATABASES.
Note: When posting or sending me an additional question about your tug, please include the serial number. Because of the number of postings and e-mails I receive, it can be difficult for me to recall who has what. Thanks!
Right: The Clarktor (F)CT80 was in production from 1956 to 1972.

Re: Differential bearings
Cool, no greasing of the inside bearings that I can see. I uploaded pictures of two of the tugs I work on in Sarge's Tugs. Sarge From:

Steve: Although the serial number of your tug is unknown, an No.O-173 might be the right maintenance manual. I don't have a copy myself but, if necessary, you
