Any filter will work, but just ask them to cross over a 3011 NAPA filter and you'll be in good shape. By all means replace all of the spring clamps on the fuel...

Electrical tape is not going to stop it. When you filled the battery, are you sure the plates were covered with acid? The OEM batteries in the China scooters...
