I AM RESTORING A REAL 66 SS CHEVELLE. THE GUY THAT I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM IS
NOT THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND HAS NO INFO. ABOUT THE HOOD TACH ON THIS CAR. WERE
AFTER MARKET TACHS AVAILABLE. IF SO, WERE THEY COMMON ON THIS MODEL CAR. I
DON'T WANT TO BE AN ODD BALL IN CAR SHOWS- TO- COME.

Tachs were available on the SS model but they were in the instrament cluster, there was no hood tach hope this helps...

The tach for 1966 Chevelles was located on the lower panel of the dash just to the left of the ash tray and earned the name 'knee knocker' tach for that very...

There were 3 different knee knocker tachs for each of the horse powers 325,360, and 375 HP with different RPM redlines.that arer available thru original parts...
